After its inaugural event at MILK Studio last summer roused up a collective interest in the blurring of technology and art, The Creators Project returns to the Big Apple with an ever more ambitious agenda. What constitute as a lax coordination of exhibits is in fact a miniature fair ground, with United Visual Artists‘ “Origin” as the centerpiece. An audio-visual sculpture, something of a forte for United Visual Artists, the “Origin” is the final form of UVA’s traveling sculpture that first appeared during Coachella of this year. To catch a glimpse at the installation, simply RSVP (required) here.

Immediately after the July announcement of its Reethym Of Lite campaign with Swizz Beatz, Reebok Classics and its executive Markus Wonko started plans on the Asia Pacific leg of this global project. With the polymathic Japanese musician Verbal at the helm, this all important region will gets to see its very own interpretation of Reethym Of Lite tonight in Tokyo. Gathered his experiences from the ongoing energy conservation tasks in Japan soon after the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, Verbal thought of a near future proposition where “reediting” the cities will be the tasks at hand for a selected few. This sci-fi theme clip encompassed not only Verbal himself, but a number of talents from the region, including actress Kiko Mizuhara from the film adoption of Norwegian Wood and Daisuke Ueda, all donned with latest Reebok Lite packable apparel and footwear. Choreographed over a virtual soundstage, largely thanks to 3D mapping technology by SUPERBIEN, the creative team behind the film was a who’s who list of celebrated individuals – photographer Doi Koichiro, visual director Yoon, stylist Shun Watanabe, and make-up artist Moma. The soon to debut Reethym Of Lite campaign for Asia Pacific will mark the first of many to come between Verbal and Reebok Classics.

During his time away from fashion the last few years, UNDERCOVER founder and designer, Jun Takahashi hand drew his own modern fairytale entitled “GRACE – The Beginning of The End”. In actuality, the surreal plot line of “GRACE” has been a long running theme to Takahashi designs in UNDERCOVER. And like the prequels before this current incarnation, a special exhibition will take place in Hong Kong this week with original drawings as well as the GRACE dolls themselves. The event, at Hong Kong’s Fringe Club, will also include limited edition t-shirts, shoulder bags and iPhone cases, all inspired by the story. And instead of his GRACE doll making performance in the past, Takahashi will be conducting a live painting performance, a first for the artist. If you’re in the Hong Kong area, trying to stop by and join in on the festivities.

It was something out of military lore. There were no indicators, no hints, even our Nike hosts answered our inquisitions with smiles and simple responses, “You’ll see”… Some hours later and still woozy from jet lags, we arrived in Los Angeles for a “secret event”. But not just any event, one that will include Nike Vice President of Design and Innovation, Tinker Hatfield, at its Keynote address. Yet, everyone hushed up at our inquests at L.A. too. Things became somewhat obvious a few minutes ago when we entered our hotel rooms. In each accommodation, a tricked out amenity package with a sleek aluminum shade tagged with “It’s About Time” at the ear piece. Along side it, a Apple iShuffle with message from Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown saying “If my calculation are correct, for the next 24hrs you are gonna see serious stuff!” Things are becoming clearer now…

To kick things off at this season’s Magic trade show in Las Vegas, Stussy and Heel Bruise are teaming up to present a photo exhibition entitled “Under the Radar”, which will be happening tomorrow at the Stussy Las Vegas store. The exhibition features work from some recognizable names such as Ray Barbee and Robbie Jeffers, and also some photos from some genuine up-and-coming talents such as Curtis Buchanan and Devin Briggs. The 4 photographers fit the theme of the new series of exhibitions which aims to mesh together established names — not necessarily recognized for their work behind the lens — with others who may or may not have exhibited before. In addition to the exhibit, food and drinks will be provided and also, 2 limited edition tee shirts will be available. Unfortunately, 1 is for promo only and that is the one featuring a photo by Devin Briggs featuring skateboarder Andy Roy, but the other with the “Under the Radar” logo will be available for purchase through Stussy LV.
