NANOSPORE
is a Los Angeles based company made up of two designers, Paul Hwang and Ben Lee. Their fresh, clean design sense is apparent through their silkscreen prints, toys, and other art made by the duo. Both artists individually have previously worked on separate projects of different genres and decided to collaborate and create Nanospore. They are currently collaborating with other artists and companies in developing new projects for the cute, invading spores.

Harajuku
(??) is an area within the Shibuya district of Tokyo, next to Yoyogi Park and the entrance to the Meiji Shrine. Like most places in Tokyo, it is easily accessible by trains running on the JR Yamanote Line, or by subways running on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. Only popularized recently in the West, Harajuku was always known as a popular hangout for Tokyo youths, since the 1960′s. Its popularity soared during the 80′s and 90′s when cosplayers and street performers dotted the area. Today, Harajuku is the center of sub-culture, with unique boutiques (such as Neighborhood and Undercover) and large retailers (such as Laforte and Gap) lined its streets. It is still a popular destination for youths, both locals and foreigners alike.

Want to check out Harajuku but can’t fly out to Tokyo just yet? There is no need to fret. Freshness recently sent out our newest contributor, Yumi, to capture the gist of the place. Enjoy!
