On one hand, its design went with a fashionable approach. On the other, it kept inline with an utilitarian execution. The result, the new Creative Recreation Antonello. First previewed at last week’s PROJECT New York trade show, the Antonello features a ballistic nylon upper inter-meshed with supple tumbled leather. While there are obvious influences from mountaineering footwear, such as D-ring eyelets and padded ankle collar, the Antonello still retains a hint of running/lifestyle design like its articulated EVA sole. Part of Creative Recreation’s Fall 2012 Collection, expect the Antonello to drop right after summer.

Clarks Originals is paying tribute to the famous music cultures and genres that have stemmed from England in their British Rock Royalty collection. We touched on the Ska Edition earlier and now we take a look at the Punk Edition. The Punk rock era started around the 60′s and gained popularity around mid 70′s where it started to diversify in US, UK and various other countries. These Desert Boots are an homage to the British Punk movement and the faded Union Jack on the upper represents the hard-edged rockers. Indigo colored canvas upper ties into the denim pants worn religiously by the musicians. Interior of the boots are lined in full leather for comfort, matched by the classic colored crepe soles. Head over to end clothing online shop and retail store to pick these up.

Following up to the gardening themed Spring/Summer 2012 collection, Junya Watanabe takes inspiration from the workers and laborers from the by gone era for the Fall/Winter 2012 collection of Junya Watanabe COMME des GARÇONS MAN. In similar fashion as the current season, the pieces are made using wool, cotton, denim, leather and flannel fabrics. An earthy color palette evoke nostalgia, while dash of primary colors revert the collection from looking too plain. All looks are complemented by a wide range of head wear and footwear, working together to construct the contemporary worker style. Last week, Pointer‘s Berlin store was the setting for an official launch party for Pointer’s collaboration with Lavenham, the British apparel brand specializing in quilted country clothing. The collection centered around two colorways of a retooled Pointer Saha Trek, made in Portugal and built with a cushioned EVA footbed and quilted textile upper courtesy of Lavenham. A blue chambray style featured a contrasting orange interior, while a yellow colorway, made exclusively for the event, was lined with blue chambray. The collection included a shoe bag and overshirt, as well as iPhone/iPad/MacBook sleeves in matching fabrics and hues. Check out images from the launch event after the click. via: The Daily Street

In an effort to bring together both cultural relevancy and design of sneakers, Nike created “White Dunk” exhibit in 2004 where an exclusive selection of Japanese artists freely reinterpreted the Nike Dunk into otherworldly creation of art. Fast forward 8 years later, the “White Dunk” project now gives way to the Nike Shoeshine Project 2012 for Nike Snowboarding. But similar to its predecessor, the premise of the Nike Shoeshine Project is also to bridge the cultural relativity and sneakers, or in this case, snowboarding boots. Just as in the golden creation done by Osamu Koyama and his firm Complete Technique, artist Marcus Tremonto fashioned his through the craft of light and optical illusion. Founder of creative studio TRELUCE in New York City, Tremonto approached his pair of Nike Zoom Force 1 with a futuristic perception of sports. Influenced by Gundam, James Bond, and sci-fi, Tremonto retraced the concept of speed and strength with “Box Boot” and “Rocket Boot”. On first glance, the two cartoonish designs appear to be clever post-production illustration on photo. However, the pieces are quite real, each handmade with custom graphics on electroluminescent paper. Part of the Nike Shoeshine Project 2012, a traveling art exhibition that will visit Munich, Germany in the coming months.

The ubiquitous three-stripes design long connected with the adidas aesthetic has been reimagined a bit on recent models, first on the adidas Originals Hardland Lo-LD and again here on the upcoming adidas Hike Sandal. The stripes slide up to the top half of the sneaker, hitting across the fat strap with a rounded look that nearly obscures their heritage. Of course that’s not the only unorthodox thing about this upcoming adidas piece, with the somewhat conflicting sources of inspiration resulting in something between a comfy pair of slippers and an urban boot. Follow us after the jump to get the full shots of the tan and black colorways, both of which will be available at atmos next month.

Although FILA may be well known for their athletic products these days, when the company was first established 100 years ago, a large part of its business focused on mountaineering. British sneaker boutique Foot Patrol wanted to pay homage to its outdoor heritage by revamping the classic Trailblazer boots. Foot Patrol named the reincarnation Trailblazer AM, which stands for Apennine Mountains, a reference to the birthplace of FILA. Its exterior is dramatically enhanced by the addition of blown rudder outsoles with tan leather beading, while its uppers are constructed from nubuck leather materials. A subtle branding of the Foot Patrol logo is placed on the inner heel, signifying the collaboration. These boots are scheduled for release on Saturday, January 28th at Foot Patrol.

Say what you will about Jeremy Scott’s creations for adidas Originals, you’ll never mistake them for anyone else’s designs. Spotted at the Bread & Butter trade show are upcoming sneaker and footwear styles that fans can look forward to for the coming year. Highlights include a teddy bear model festooned with flowers, as well as the ever popular JS Wings in a silver mesh variation plus one featuring a multi-colored textile build. Animal prints, hand-written scrawls and butterfly wings are the order of the day, and for Jeremy Scott fans it’s just the kind of jumbled pastiche that makes a sneaker special. via: Wait Fashion
