L.L. Bean Bootmobile Celebrating 100 Years in the Outdoors | Video

L.L. Bean might thwart a position long held by Oscar Mayer’s Wienermobile with its own Bootmobile. To help celebrate the outdoor goods label’s 100th anniversary, the Maine-base company sought Echo Artz to recreate ’s most famous footwear, the Maine Hunting Boots, in a facsimile much, much larger than life. At around 13′ in height, 20′ 6″ in length, and 7′ 6″ in width, a fiberglass replica of the boot sits on a Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel truck. And because L.L. Bean always been an environmentally conscious company, the Bootmobile will generates 0% CO2 emission thanks to its urea tank and filter. After its initial debut at Brunswick, ME, where the Maine Hunting Boots are made, and a public unveiling at New York City’s Times Square, the L.L. Bean Bootmobile will criss-cross the U.S. for surprise appearances. via: Autoblog

Cole Haan Air Rhone Boot
Photo: Allen Benedikt

subsidiary is a brown shoe company for the most part, but every once in a while the DNA of their parent company pops up in one of their pieces. Take the recently previewed Nike x Cole Haan Lunagrand for example, a straightforward oxford offering on the top half that gets souped up with sneaker tech in the form of the Lunarlon sole on bottom. The new Cole Haan Air Rhone Boot shown here takes a similar path, injecting Nike Air technology into the soles to notch up the comfort on this tough winter boot. It’s not Air Max, so the upgrade isn’t entirely visible, but once you slide these on you can feel it. Hit the jump for the full look at at the Cole Haan Air Rhone Boot, which goes for $248 and can be had at the Cole Haan online shop or in their brick and mortar locations.

Taka Hayashi x VANS Vault Sierra Trek Lo LX

first began collaborating with the VANS Vault team back in 2006 and since then he has helped to produce unique renditions of traditional designs. This Spring we’ll see another impressive addition shaped by Taka with the Sierra Trek Lo LX, which is a dressier Oxford-type shoe with an artisan-feeling leather and suede upper sitting atop a rarely seen crepe sole. The Sierra Trek Lo arrives in natural, earthly tones that give them more of an aged and rustic personality that still easily fit into a wide range of scenarios. This addition to the Spring 2012 Vault Collection is set to drop in select retailers this February.

Taka Hayashi x VANS Vault Engineer Boots LX

VANS Vault and Taka Hayashi are back again for the Spring 2012 season and it seems like the collection have steered away from the classic VANS silhouettes. This is not a bad thing, however these footwear show remnants of the VANS DNA. This Engineer Boots LX is a rendition of the work boots with the comfort of sneakers. The premium leather uppers are offered in Black and Sunrise tones, while both styles sit firmly on top of thick crepe soles. Moccasin treatment is another welcome touch, wrapping around the forefoot of the boots. Expect these to be on the shelves of VANS Vault dealers worldwide very soon.

UNDERCOVER Spring/Summer 2012 Collection | Video

UNDERCOVER is starting to exploring the visual realm in a completely different way in their latest promotional video for the forthcoming Spring/Summer 2012 collection. A video lookbook if you will, the openstrings collection is showcased in an almost runway-like fashion. In the background, a two piece band plays eclectic tunes through their electric guitars, while models take their position on the revolving stage. This method works perfectly to highlight the collection, as each style needs to be viewed from front and back to be fully appreciated. Many of the pieces are created to form an illusion of a complete layered style, yet from the back it is apparent that all of the layers are actually sewn together as one garment.

Apart from showing the collection, Jun Takahashi invited the legendary Japanese rock singer and actor Yuya Uchida for the introduction of this video. Uchida expresses hardship Japan is still facing today even after almost a year since the devastation from the earthquakes, tunamis and nuclear meltdown. The video can be seen in full after the jump.

Diemme Roccia Vet Temola Tomahawk Boots

When Diemme originally created the Roccia Vet boot, it was intended purely for hunting in the wilderness. However, as time passed, the classic boot transitioned into the lifestyle segment with a wide array of colors and finishes. The latest pair to be delivered from Diemme are these Roccia Vet Temola Tomahawk boots in Yellow and True Navy versions. Both versions of the footwear retain the classic silhouette, yet its traditionally heavy rubber soles have been swapped with lightweight Vibram Morflex wedge soles. The cream-colored soles contrast the premium leather uppers, whilst ensuring comfort and cushioning. These boots are currently available through HAVEN in Canada and at other Diemme stockists around the globe.

adidas Originals Blue Collection Spring/Summer 2012 February 2012 Releases

It will be a blue Valentine’s Day this February as adidas Originals Blue Collection releases its latest denim inspired designs. Winning someone’s love is never an easy task. To ease the pursuit just a bit are denim shirts for both him and her. 100% cotton chambray, loosely fitted like work shirts for men and a bit form-fitting (plus feminine) for the ladies. While on the subject of “ladies”, there is the collection’s ZX Heel. Leather toe cap, nubuck upper with a dash patent leather for good measure, but its more unique (and interesting) feature is its heel counter – taken straight from ZX 8000 running shoes, a perfect balance between stylish and functional.

Ronnie Fieg x Sebago Delancey

You’d think that with Ronnie Fieg’s brick and mortar retail spots in NYC hitting their stride, the man would be content to settle down with the collabos a bit to give himself a break. That hasn’t been the case though, with a new popping up every couple weeks-the latest of which is another get together with heritage boat-shoe brand . The x Sebago Delancey is a top notch boot boasting Horween leather construction, which comes in a deep brown for a neutral look. Towards the toe is a bit of removable fringe detailing, a design element which is quickly becoming synonymous with Fieg’s brown shoe pieces. Follow the jump for the detailed shots of the x Sebago Delancey, which is limited to 144 pairs and can be had now at the RF online shop or at either of the Kith locations.
