Up and coming hip hop recording artist Meek Mill, a member of XXL‘s Freshmen Class of 2011, recently took a break from touring in support of his celebrated mixtape Dreamchasers to hang with his crew in his hometown of Philadelphia. The respite involved a favorite activity of the rapper’s — driving out to the backwoods for an afternoon of ATV riding. Meek was recently spotted on one such trip sporting a pair of signature kicks from an up and comer in the world of basketball, the Reebok John Wall ZigEncore. Lightweight and featuring flex grooves at the outsole for superior flexibility, the shoe is seemingly built for point guards quick on their feet as well as rappers quick on the mic. It’s available now through Reebok’s webstore.

Perhaps because it was the last leg of his U.K. tour, English hip-hop artist Tinie Tempah was recently spotted with a pair of Nike MAG while performing on stage at London’s O2 Arena. Forever known as the first man ever to purchase the Nike MAG, it is not known if the pair he wore was the very same one that he lavished a cool $37,500 for or a pair of “back-ups”. Though it wouldn’t been nicer if his outlandish custom lite up as well. See Tinie and his Nike MAG in full technocolor spectrum after the click. via: HB

NFL players are known for their larger-than-life personalities, though some are more colorful than others. Already known for his techno-colorway hair cuts on the field, Antonio Garay, the Defensive Tackle for San Diego Chargers, is doing his best to “liven it up” outside the 50-yard line with his smart ForTwo coupe. Certainly this wasn’t the first time seeing a giant riding a sub-compact. Reigning world heavyweight champion, boxer Wladimir Klitschko, had his very own smart ForTwo coupe customized by West Coast Customs Berlin. What categorized Antonio Garay and his smart ForTwo coupe with a “What In The World…!” subject line is the fact that Garay brought himself a Hello Kitty special edition. The 6-foot 4, 320-pound new owner is not only driving his new ride around town, he also chauffeured fellow Defensive Tackle Cam Thomas in it as well. That led Garay to tweet “Not sure how SMART this is but w/ me & @Baby_Zilla76 in the car its roughly 665lbs in the @smartCar…” Need an early start on the weekend? Check out the hilarious images taken by Antonio Garay himself after the jump… Big props to a big man! via: Yahoo

This past weekend Kid Cudi showed off a pair of Nike MAGs at Siren Studios in Hollywood for a party celebrating the rapper’s third Complex cover in three years. Hosted by Bacardi and Complex, the bash featured beats courtesy of actor/DJ Clark Duke, as well as a special live performance by The Knux, who were joined onstage by Cudi himself for the song “Run.” Guests included Superbad‘s Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Cudi’s How to Make It in America castmates Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk. On a scale that rivals Cirque du Soleil, Reebok officially launched its Reethym Of Lite campaign for the all-important Asia Pacific last evening in Tokyo. With well over 1000 people packed into Ebisu Garden Hall, guests in attendance was a wide swath of VIPs like supermodel Ai Tominaga, DJ Sam Lee of Hong Kong, Japanese star Beni, Malaysian DJ Xu from LAPSAP, models Elli Rose and Melody Yoko, A Bathing Ape‘s NIGO, and retailer BEAMS CEO Yo Shitara. A performance line-up equals to that of a music festival, the evening long festivities saw Trippple Nippples, Mademoiselle Yulia, DJ Lucas Valentine, and Taku. It was also the point of debut for The Run, a new song tuned by Verbal and Taku, as the duo m-flo, specifically for Reebok. The evening hit new high again however when Swizz Beatz took the stage. It was an evening true to Beatz’ Reebok theme song, International Party.

It was one of the most talked about event of this summer, a secret concert with Kanye West at Brooklyn’s Skylight One Hanson during the middle of NBA Finals‘ Game 5. It marked the kick-off point for this year’s Heineken Red Star Access Concert Series with West’s G.O.O.D Music. Today, thanks to VEVO, anyone with Internet can view the 2-hour long festivities and clips from 4 songs – Jesus Walks, All Of The Lights, Flashing Lights, Good Life. To truly complete the aesthetic and the atmosphere of that evening, video artist Nam June Paik added an unique setting to the performance. All the while, the performance was captured by no less than 12 cameras rigged on site by director Kenzo Digital.

With little progress on the NBA Lockout, Orlando Magic‘s Dwight Howard found time for other pursuits, like a quick visit to the ongoing Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. Of course, one of Superman‘s first visit was to Y-3 Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Preview, courtesy of Howard’s sponsor adidas. But with so many fashion events going on at one time, even Howard wonders about how to fit all within his schedule here in the Big Apple.

Former Creative Director at Neiman Marcus department store, Nick Wooster is by far the most photographed industry insider within the men’s fashion circle. Now a consultant for both PROJECT trade show and GILT, the polymath gent was spotted as his usual dapper self at Y-3 yesterday, right before the collaborative label was to show its Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.

Plenty of celebrity sighting from last evening’s Fashion’s Night Out festivities, though one stood out was Kid Cudi‘s impromptu appearance at Nike Sportswear. Added to his other favorite haunts in SoHo, including BAPE New York and the newly opened Surface To Air flagship, the rapper/actor swung by Nike’s 21 Mercer location to see Nike MAG 2011 in person. A self-professed sneakerholic, little surprise the original Rager immediately proclaimed his love for the electroluminescent wonder from Nike.

Fans hoping to make it to Pusha T‘s appearance at the adidas Originals store in SoHo yesterday heard the bad news from the man himself. Via his Twitter: “Really weather?? So u really gonna push my NY trip back one whole day and make me wake up for a 6am flight huh?? Sigh…” Rain can’t keep a good man down, however — Pusha T was at the adidas Originals store on Wooster today, greeting happy fans and signing autographs in anticipation of the release of his EP Fear of God 2: Let Us Pray. Check out additional images from today’s event following the jump.

In between acrimonious Tweets from Tyler the Creator to Bruno Mars and appearance of Lady Gaga as alter ego Jo Calderone, last night’s MTV VMAs filled the air wave with stunning surprises, like the supposedly impromptu “Otis” performance from Jay-Z and Kanye West. But seasoned Kanye watchers knew something else – the performance might yield a glimpse at the yet-to-be-official Nike Air Yeezy 2. From its first appearance on Black Mamba film set with Kobe Bryant and a semi-official viewing on the stage of Coachella music festival, fans already seen plenty of the black variant of Air Yeezy 2. Last evening’s festivities were quite different, however. It marked the debut of the design’s Zen Grey colorway, making it 2 of 3 colorways based on the original Air Yeezy.
