Canon EOS 5D Mark III Digital SLR – Literally In The Wild | Teaser

Perhaps its an elaborate rouse to add more confusion in the mix. Instead of the usual cadre of professional photographers to “preview” its latest products, Canon made an unexpected move over the weekend and had one of its employee test out what looks to be the much anticipated Canon EOS 5D Mark III Digital SLR, in the open quite literally. During his safari trip in Kenya, photographer Stephen Oachs met a follow traveler from Japan with an odd setup – a unmarked EOS camera, a new 200-400mm lens, and an unfamiliar 600mm lens. While Oachs was able to confirm the man to be a ’s employee out testing field-of-depth functions, he wasn’t able to get more information on the gears. Already, the speculations have run rampant online, everything from a new name ( EOS 5D X), a completely new model ( EOS 7D Mark II), to accusation of the images being fakes. OMEGA Seamaster James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Edition

While he is very much a fictional character, James Bond, her majesty’s trusted secret agent, is never the less a brand ambassador for OMEGA. In honor of Bond’s first film appearance in Dr. No (1962) 50 years ago, the luxury timepiece maker designed a special Seamaster Professional for the occasion. In sizes 41mm (for men) and 36mm (for women), the James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Watch is a reinterpretation of the classic OMEGA Seamaster diver’s watch. Special alterations include repetitive 007 monograms engraved on the lacquered black dial and the red “50″ dive marker on its ceramic bezel, James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Seamaster also features a case back in the form of a gun barrel, a reference to Bond’s signature Walther PPK pistol. At the center, a small sapphire crystal encased a bullet-like decor with the imprints “James Bond 50 Years”. For a touch femininity, the 36mm version will include a diamond stud as the 7 o’clock marker. Limited to 11,007 units for the 41mm model and 3,007 units for the 36mm model, both will be available soon at OMEGA dealers worldwide. G Form Apple iPad Extreme Sleeve 2 | Video

“Extreme” is one way to describe just how much protection your iPad 2 will get from the new G-Form iPad Extreme Sleeve 2. Looking like something NASA would wrap around a spacecraft reentering our atmosphere, the G-Form wraps your gadget in a PORON foamy embrace about an inch thick, keeping it safe from the dangers and airport security agents of the world. But, to prove just how safe your iPad 2 will be, G-Form has conducted a few tests to show that even extreme impacts to the case will keep your iPad safe and sound. And, G-Form really means extreme here; they’ve dropped it from an airplane 500 feet in the air and dropped a 12 pound bowling ball on it, and both times everything inside remained in working order. You can pick up the G-Form online in either a yellow or black/black colorway. via: hayabusa.bz

HYT H1 Hydro Mechanical Driven Watch

As intangible as the concept of time, it certainly has not stop watchmaker from creating a physical facsimile of the notion. One such is the H1 from HYT. Though a newcomer in the competitive high-end watch market, the CEO of HYT (short for Hydro Mechanical Horologists) is the experienced horologist Vincent Perriard, who once headed Concord and the creation of Concord C1 Quantum Gravity, another technical advanced timepiece.

Housed in either a titanium, DLC-coated titanium, or rose gold enclosure, the H1 features two distinctive portions – a manual-wind mechanical movement made on 35 jewels with 65-hour of power reserve. But the most unique and fun aspect of the H1 must be its “hydro” system, a liquid filled ring on the dial face which tells the hour. Driven by 2 hydraulic pistons on the lower portion of the watch, 2 liquids circulate in the ring in intervals – the florescent alcohol-base fluid stipulate the hours while it is counteracts by a clear oil-base fluid. Because of this creative time-telling schematic, the HYT H1 can also be consider as the world’s first hydro mechanical watch. Currently priced at $45,000 US for the titanium variant, the HYT H1 will officially debut at Switzerland’s BASELWORLD in March.

Richard Mille Tourbillon RM 052 Skull Watch

Just in case his sapphire crystal encased RM056 Chrono-Tourbillon Watch did not flabbergast event goers at this week’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva, Richard Mille prepared another new design, the Tourbillon RM 052 Skull Watch. As suggested, a skull features prominently on the dial face. But unlike other “skull and crossbones” novelties (and there are quite a few), Mille distinctively integrated the movement into the macabre element.  Held adrift by four “crossbones” at the center of the encasement, the skeletonized function translates to the back, which is also visible thanks to sapphire watch back.  Limited to only 21 pieces, with 6 made of rose/white gold and 15 of these made entirely out of titanium, it will be beyond most watch enthusiasts’ budgets unless you’re a corporate raider of some sort.

Stuck Up Piece of Crap Definitive Sticker iPhone App

You may not even think twice about them as you walk by each day, but those stickers you see stuck to lamp posts, mailboxes, walls, and buildings each carry a message unique to themselves and represent a cultural trend first started back in 1966 with Andy Wharhol’s Banana sticker. In an effort to capture the widespread dominance stickers have gained in streets around the world, the book Sticker: From Punk Rock to Contemporary Art (aka Stuck-Up Piece of Crap) features over 4,000 stickers and includes interviews with ESPO, Swoon, and Clayton Patterson. But, because stopping with the launch of a book wouldn’t fit the meaning behind this book, now there’s an iPhone App, which lets you upload stickers you find along your own travels with their geotag or browse sticker collections by type (such as graffiti, art, skateboarding) or by artist. Its also a great way to spread the word about your own work. Check it out on iTunes where you can download it for free. via: Frank151
