Casio G Shock – December 2010 | New Releases

What it lacks in volume, the December product portfolio from Casio G-Shock makes up in desirability, especially the collaborations with retailers ALIFE and DGK. As stand along edition, the GX-56 themselves warrant much attention already since the new model is the “toughest and largest” watch G-Shock ever produced. Behind the oversize display face, Casio engineers poured in new resins and added more vibration absorbing properties. Making the watch almost indestructible. With skate label Dirty Ghetto Kids in the fray, the motto “toughest and largest” takes on a whole new meaning. For those looking at something less ostentatious, you still have models GW-2310BD and AWG-100BC, subtle in aesthetics yet fully functional as with any other G-Shock. The December 2010 Releases will be arriving at G-Shock dealers near you in the coming weeks.

HP just sent over one of their newest and sleekest printers the Envy 100 e-All-In-One printer for our studio. describes the Envy 100 Printer Series as cutting-edge and sleek so when we received and opened the box we were already wowed by the well thought out packaging. The outer box is all black with rich photography and on the inside the printer is protected by a tote style dust bag. This is an amazing addition to the Freshness office with its sleek design and compact package. Some other amazing specs include a 3.45″ high-res touchscreen display on the front of the printer, SD/MMC, MS/DUO reader, USB connectivity and our favorite, the ability to print to it wirelessly from anywhere in the world through its own email address! BAPE x Casio G Shock GLS 5500
Hot on the heels of the BAPE smoker comes a more traditional way to show affinity for the Ape General: another and Casio co-produced G-Shock. The platform for this project is the relatively slim GLS-5500, a similar profile to the G-5500AL-1JR used in a very recent Casio x ALIFE collaboration. It’s nice to see a new profile in the mix, rather than the DW-5600 we see so much of in these collaboration pieces. The BAPE GLS-5500 has a pretty safe black color scheme, but gets pushbuttons in both blue and red. And of course, the ever-popular Ape logo backlight is present. Check out a close of up of the BAPE backlight after the jump.

ALIFE x Casio G Shock G 5500AL 1JR

Casio and ALIFE have teamed up on a G-Shock collaboration, based on a model that gets a bit less attention in the overall G-Shock lineup, and certainly one that is a more rare choice for collaboration. The G-5500AL-1JR has a simpler, more angular profile than many of it’s counterparts. It does, however, share their useful features (too many to list in full here), along with a Tough Solar charging system. The design input is really strong here; the watch and band are set in matte black, with a glossy white logo around the band, with an logo etched into the buckle. The watch comes in well-designed packaging, which matches the classy black and white color scheme of the watch. Definitely a versatile G-Shock for multiple settings or seasons. Check out a more detailed image of the x G-5500-1JR after the jump.

iPhone 4 Metal Back

When it comes to the Apple iPhone 4, users love and rant about it as if it was their newborn child. Besides, they most certainly treat them like one. However, when it comes to versions and variations of the iPhone, such as the highly anticipated and continuously delayed white iPhone 4, people tend to get even more anxious to acquire it. It is perhaps a sense of uniqueness in comparison to the generic black iPhone. If you can’t wait any longer for the white iPhone 4, here’s some exciting news for you. Instead of using skins and stickers while adding clumpy-ness to your dear phone, the people at Unplugged ordered a metal panel mod from cnn.cn based in China. The mod is made with a much stronger and more durable material than the original fragile black glass of the iPhone. With the mod’s luxurious appeal, the elegance of the phone is retained, while featuring a beveled back making the phone smoother and less boxy. The installation is relatively simple, involving only a couple of screws being removed. There are also step-by-step tutorials to guide you through the entire transformation of your iPhone. via: Unplugged
