Interview Magazine Shepard Fairey Interview by Iggy Pop

Shepard Fairey’s rise to fame was not unearned. However, it was definitely no without repercussions either. First, Fairey’s “Hope” hero-esque portrait of Obama brought him to fame (of course, Obama winning the elections definitely helped as well), but it has not only brought him fame, it has also dragged in an ugly lawsuit with the Associated Press– Associate Press sued Fairey for an unauthorized use of one of AP’s photographs taken by Mannie Garcia back in 2006 of Obama for his portrait.

Hyori Lee x adidas Originals by Originals Jeremy Scott | Vogue May 2010

Known for her sex appeal, youthful energy and style, Korean pop sensation Hyori Lee was selected as one of the spokesperson for adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2010 Campaign alongside Ciara, Whitney Port, Snoop Dogg and more. This month, Korea takes the adidas Originals by Originals apparel on a black-tie, glamorized spin and takes sporty to a new, high fashion level. The cropped wing jacket is layered over a tiered, ruffle floor-length gown, and the incredibly ornate Torero SS TT jacket is paired with an equally ostentatious, high-volume satin gown. KAWS Tokyo Trip Hajime Sorayama

This is not , but KAWS had visited Japanese artist, Hajime Sorayama, on his latest trip to Tokyo for OriginalFake Fall/Winter 2010 exhibition. For those who have been following ’ projects, Hajime Sorayama doesn’t come across as a strange name as he had previously collaborated with KAWS on the sweepingly popular “No Future Companion”. Aside from his work with KAWS, the artist is known for his provocative pin-up style, and AIBO, an entertainment robotic pet for Sony. KAWS’ visit reveals in his studio space, and euphemistically speaking, quirkiness ensues. Check out Sorayama’s hoard of knickknacks, toys (is it a Stitch we see?), and random body parts that take an uncanny center stage in the photos. Only through KAWS’ lens would you see pictures of Sorayama scratching a faux feet nonchalantly.via: KAWS

Banksy Heist In LA Footage | Video

Perhaps an inspired crime, not long after Banksy premiered his directorial debut “Exit Through The Gift Shop” in Los Angeles, the graffiti artist’s work on a wall in Los Angeles’ La Brea Avenue had been stolen. As in, someone literally knocked off a chunk of the wall which worked on, featuring a stenciled picture of a security guard carrying a Jeff Koons’ balloon dog, just yesterday. Jetset Graffiti investigated and obtained more information on the heist, confirming that the removal was organized by Doug Christmas of Ace Gallery in Los Angeles. A video footage of the removal had been posted by Jetset Graffiti and in the mean time, this piece has yet to been authenticated by himself, so please do not support the sale of this piece, wherever it might end up. Ah, such is the life of street art. via: Jetset Graffiti
