Sharpie Liquid Pencil

Liquid? Pencil? Sharpie? Is it possible to embody all three of those in one slim, casing fit for a 0.5mm ballpoint pen? Considering this is the company which provides tools for creativity, it is not surprising that has a few tricks up its own sleeves. This time around, has pushed the boundaries of “permanent” and created a liquid pencil which writes like a pen, dries like a pencil, and stay erasable for up to 24 hours, after which, the writing becomes permanent like . We already hear creative gears grinding everywhere to take advantage of the 24 hour lapse…

The new Liquid Pencil is set to hit stores in September, but Office Depot already has them in stock online. And let’s tap our liquid pencils together to celebrate the end of broken lead and sharpening, and having to carry a pencil, and a pen!

Andy Warhol x Dom Pérignon A Tribute To Andy Warhol by Dom Pérignon

had a thought (in actual fact, he had more than just one) and he wasn’t afraid to convey it. Before Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons came along, contemporary art’s household bad boy, was none other than the great and late . While his silkscreen images of Marilyn Monroe in Marilyn Diptych and Campbell Soup Cans are one of the most pervasive art images around, when he first transgressed outside commercial art, inspired by other Pop Art movement key figures such as Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg, he shocked and offended some by offering an alternative point of view on art– that art doesn’t necessarily have to be a mean to convey intimate emotions. Warhol blurred the lines between commercialism and art, and his signature silk-screen methods dethroned the concept that art is singular and rare.

Sure, Warhol was le enfant terrible when it comes to creating art, but in real life, when he is not sculpting or painting or printing, he was most often spotted at parties. And, he is one of the rare forerunners of artists (Jeff Koons would follow suit) who has established himself as a cult figure and social butterfly. A big fan of parties, Warhol was a frequent purveyor of the legendary Studio 54, and as he has once mentioned, one of his favorite things to do is to drink Dom Pérignon with his friends there.

Apple iPhone 4 Antenn aid

Whether you believe the iPhone 4′s blatant antenna problem is a scam to make twenty-some dollars from each owner, or that it is a simple glitch that the entire iPhone 4 team managed to overlook before launching the product, for those who are unwilling to succumb to the elegant solution known as the “Bumper”, Antenn-aid is here to help. With a hilarious and adorable tag line “Apple made a boo-boo. Make it all better”, the Antenn-aid is a custom-sized vinyl sticker in the shape of a band-aid designed to improve signal performance. Capsule Show New York Mens Trade Show

Think hosting a trade show is as easy as issuing invites, locating a space and setting up some booths? Think again. To create a well-organized trade show is almost on par as curating a museum exhibition– locking down the right goods for the right places. In the attention deficit world of fashion where trends enjoy the life span of a fruit fly, (capsule) manages to rise above many and capture the attention of the critical fashion crowd with a finely curated list of exhibitors, and also has turned trade show from something that impresses upon us as rowdy and hectic into a definitive visit that promises insight into a volatile industry. After a successful run in Paris with a new location, (capsule) will be hitting New York City next week at a new space as well, at Center 548, the ex-dwelling for the DIA Art Foundation.

Robert Caplin/The New York Times

George Steinbrenner, the mercurial owner of New York Yankees baseball team, passed away this morning at the age of 80. Through his reign as owner of the Bronx Bombers since 1973, Steinbrenner created a baseball dynasty like no other. Valued around $1.6 billion dollars, it gathered 11 pennant wins and 7 World Series titles, including the most recent one in 2009. However, it was Steinbrenner’s temperament, from his firing of managers to criticism of his players, which made him one most controversial figure in the sport. It also earned him the title “The Boss” and rightfully so since Steinbrenner insist of a hands-on approach of his team. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his sons Hal and Hank, his daughters Jennifer Steinbrenner Swindal, Jessica Steinbrenner and grandchildren. Hal and Hank Steinbrenner handled most of the day to day operation since 2007 and will assume ownership to the Yankees empire.
