It appears that BAPE is getting a little bit silly with the help of Hong Kong’s creative collective, SILLY THING. While the details of their collaboration is still unknown, for now we know that the SILLY BAPE THING website is live, and features a countdown counter. With 11 more days to go, we can only say stay tuned and keep your eyes open because we are quite certain whatever the two generals are up to, it will be pretty interesting.

Five Dunks, one man, one country– just the ingredients necessary for concocting the latest collaborative project “Spreading Sneaker Culture Throughout Brazil” by sneaker site, SneakersBR and Nike Sportswear. In celebrating three years of partnership between SneakersBR and Nike Sportswear, and also, as the title had quite conspicuously states, spreading sneaker culture throughout Brazil, the duo had come together once again on a brand new project which comprises of both product and event.

Shock resistant, water resistant, and can perhaps withstand any kind of torture not meant for delicate intricacies of cameras? Sounds like Casio G-Shock? It is meant to be that way, but we are indeed talking about cameras here. The Casio Exlim G is designed with the active (actually, let’s make that extremely active) explorers in mind. As such, the collaboration between The North Face and Casio Exlim G couldn’t have been more appropriate–it is like a like-minded marriage meant to last. As the two souls share the same wanderlust for the great outdoors, they have pooled together some resources and created a microsite, mini-documentary project called, “For The Explorers”. The microsite features notable explorers such as Tomoki Takaku and Neil Hartmann on their adventures and documenting their journeys with the Casio Exlim G. The site not only features interviews, photography, tips, and carefully curated features, it is also has a list of activities for those who would like to “take it outside” as well. Enjoy!

Love him or hate him for that one-hour special on ESPN when announcing his finalized decision to join the Miami Heat (perhaps you think that was an easy way out…like Michael Jordan did); or, for his nickname, “King James”; or simply, for the fact that he isn’t Kobe Bryant– there is no denying that LeBron is the man of the moment and much buzzed about. Quoting the famed phrase, all press is good press, right? Well, in the case of GQ’s journalistic ode to the King, there is only good press. In celebration of a summer of LeBron, GQ has created a special microsite, compiling everything from interview to feature, fashion picks and blog and forum about all things King James. The microsite, named “LeBron James Can Take The Heat”, is perhaps as up close and personal as you can get to the King. Peruse if you love him, and peruse over and over if you are a radical in the game. Because, after all, you keep you friends close, and your enemies closer. images via: GQ

Carnival in Tokyo has been the leading figure in the Tokyo fixed gear bicycle scene. However, initially, after the retail store opened, Carnival didn’t even have a website. And even now, it only operates a blog based website for interested customers. The good news is, things have finally changed as Carnival have finally launched an online store selling their original items from complete bicycles to crank sets, frames to wheels, tires to hubs and all other parts. For those outside of Japan, this will be the best way to check the latest in Carnival items, but unfortunately the website is in Japanese only and they will not be shipping overseas.

The power of the mind is a curious one, and for those suffering from neuromuscular diseases and paralysis caused by stroke, ALS or other sustained injuries, the mind is often the only way to feel alive and in control despite waning physical abilities. We have all heard tales of paralyzed or partially paralyzed artists and creative minds who continue to produce provocative work with toes or limited physical capabilities as best as they can. To empower the lives of paralyzed artists and creative minds, The EyeWriter is a low-cost device which includes a DIY hardware and free software that allows artists to draw with their eyes. The EyeWriter has been created by GRL and the FAT Lab in collaboration with graffiti writer and ALS sufferer, Tempt One.

Coinciding with the delivery of the 2011 Fall/Winter collection is the launch of the renewed website design by OriginalFake. The full Flash website is brightly colored in yellow background and brought alive by looping KAWS graphic that dominates the homepage. Black text is used on the logos and buttons and the website now features the current 2011 Fall/Winter collection lookbook. The easy to navigate layout is user friendly and would be a good platform for new items and information. Fans should keep up to date by checking back regularly on the new website.

For the anarchist who rise against the greedy corporate gears and perhaps, capitalism (and have burned your copy of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged in a bonfire), NEIGHBORHOOD had started a new line, LUKER by NEIGHBORHOOD named after the Flithy Lucre album by the Sex Pistols not too long ago. The entire line is heavily influenced with the seductive lawlessness and chaos of the Sex Pistols, and champions sartorial bravado with dark palettes, leather, and definitive slogans. LUKER by NEIGHBORHOOD has been tapped for collaborations, and one of the high profile works has been with adidas Originals by Originals kzk. With that said, LUKER by NEIGHBORHOOD has been getting a lot of attention and love from the public. And, perhaps in a slight irony, LUKER by NEIGHBORHOOD will be contributing the oiling the capitalist gears by opening up a web store very soon on July 17. Irony aside, an easier way to shop is always welcome.
