DVS Keirin Pack

So it seems like DVS has gotten the fixed gear bicycle or track racing bug with the new catalogue for the Spring 2011. Although it is great to see the brand reach out into Keirin with the Keirin Pack and not just jumping on the fixed gear bandwagon. The nine colorways of the sneakers are inspired by none other than the Keirin (velodrome) racers in Japan.  Each Keirin racer would wear brightly colored kits with their numbers prominently showing on the shoulder and on their helmets. The base shoes for the pack is Convict and these are titled Convict SP KRN. via: The Foot Down

adidas Originals Adi City Pack Gazelle

adidas Originals is glowing this season, and we are not saying this is the metaphorical sense for their recent accomplishments (even though it is a fitting description). This season, has launched the very urban adi City Pack, which comprises of sneakers and apparel featuring graphics of traffic signs and cityscapes. Meant to reflect the lifestyle of those wandering in the urban jungle, the collection utilizes materials such as resistant fabric, reflective substances, and warning orange colors. First up for a quick peek is the adidas Original Gazelle from this pack. The Gazelle has quickly attained the status of being a beloved low-top casual city model, and this time around, the shoes have been rendered in a simple grey suede with graffiti-esque graphics on the heel. Printed insoles featuring the urban landscape (they glow in the dark!) with orange street signs highlighted with reflective materials can be found on the tongue, heel and insoles as well. Honestly, these will be quite perfect for the cyclists riding around at night. via: suelasdegoma

Nike x Jordan Brand x CONVERSE World Basketball Festival: The Ball Room | Behind The Scenes

Budgetary constraint, limited time frame, alterations to original schematic, so on and so forth… all expected occurrences on a New York City construction site.  But what if the job is a museum, and a temporary one at that?  Such dilemma didn’t fray the workers at The Ball Room in Harlem, the temporary exhibition space honoring the past, the present, and the future of basketball.  And as photographer Dorothy Hong documented over the course of a few days, Nike’s staff members and hired helps magically created a space suitable not just as a temporary exhibit but as a full fledged flagship store.  Maybe would change its mind about shuttering it after August 29th?  Whatever the decision might be, the Ball Room is definitely a place of interest for those in town this week for World Basketball Festival.
