Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Mocomoco Hi

One interesting aspect of Japanese culture is its ability to adopt what is new and incorporate it with ease.  A good example is its language.  When traditional Japanese text failed to provide a definition accurately, an onomatopoeia is be created in its place.  Words such as “nya nya” as to mimic a cat’s meow or “kero kero” as to a frog’s croak.  “Moco Moco” (モコモコ) is also such onomatopoeia, as it refers to the softness of wool or “super softness” as it define.

A take on the original Chuck Taylor All Star Moo Hi released in 2000, the new Converse – Chuck Taylor All Star Mocomoco Hi is a commemorative edition, as part of the label’s 100th anniversary celebration.  Like the All Star Moo Hi, the All Star Mocomoco Hi replicates the sheep’s wool (instead of cow’s hide), featuring a polyester faux shearling upper, along with suede accents, in natural or black colorways.  The Chuck Taylor All Star Mocomoco Hi is currently available at selected Converse Japan retailers and FLAUGE of ZOZOTOWN network.

VANS x Active Ride Shop Half Cabs

Active Ride Shop has long been a staple where skateboarders and skate shoe lovers alike get their kicks. Last year Active teamed up with several different skate shoe companies in a charitable effort to design shoes for their special “Drop Sneakers Not Bombs” campaign. This year the campaign will kick off again on November 11th, and once more a portion of proceeds will go to the Invisible Children’s cause. Here we see the first sneak peak of this installment, a VANS Half Cab. Quite possibly the most popular skate shoe ever produced, the Half Cab has dominated the skate shop shelves for nearly 20 years. This special edition Half Cab is set apart from the rest with its use of several premium leathers on its upper including quilted leather and oiled suede. A thick black pinstripe sets the off white mid sole a part from the upper. Each pair comes topped off with leather shoe strings.
