Marked all over with perforation of large and small sizes, the inner lining doubled as a barrier to keep the elements from getting in. Of course, plenty of details were incorporated, such as the “MAD” marking on the gum rubber treads and reflective heel tab. Currently available at MADFOOT! retailers and eproze online store, part of the ZOZOTOWN shopping network.

After several sneak peeks and preview, the much anticipated hanon fly club – 670 squadron, a collaboration between New Balance and Aberdeen’s hanon shop has finally launch. Both versions, the M670GKY Tornado and M670BRY Spitfire, are now available on hanon’s online store. Based on the concept of past and present Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter aircraft. Each was manufactured at the New Balance facility at Flimby. Hanon’s Edward Toft and crew incorporated all that is avia:tor related, including the composition – a specially treated cotton fabric. Manufactured by British-based company Ventile, the fabric is 100% cotton, yet weather resistant. A favorite among pilots during World War 2, its usage on flight suits predated its synthetic counterparts by decades. Attentions were paid to gave the collection a “worn look”, from yellowed EVA mid sole to retro laces. On portions that were not covered by the Ventile fabric, the collaborators found Wolverine Leathers of US to provide double dyed suede with 3M Scotchguard coating.
Only 150 units were produced in each style, available exclusively at hanon shop. For those who wants to know more about this collection, check out the latest feature/interview with hanon’s Edward Toft on High Snobiety.

After the initial 3 models, New Balance is set to release the 2nd round of its Made in England series. Based on its flagship model, M1300, the Made in England collection celebrates New Balance deeply rooted heritage in United Kingdom via: its manufacturing center in Filmby. With its ENCAP cushioning system, it was the only technical running sneaker that sold for £100 when it launched in 1985. Thus, making it the most popular sneakers for the decades to come. And because its unique “layering” property on the exterior, the M1300 also became a favorite among collaborators for it limitless working surface to alter with.
For the second part of this collection, designers at New Balance took into account of the Autumn season. The colorways on this release are less dramatic. Yet, the sharp contrast accents on all 3, along with the combination of premium suede, leather and mesh, make them quite distinctive still.
