fragment design and MEDICOM TOY have upped the ante for the special edition World Wide Tour 2 BE@RBRICKS. These large BE@RBRICKS are wearing an outer layer which looks like an innocent rabbit. Complete with bunny ears, the white and pink fluffy creation has one interesting surprise. When the external layer is taken off, it reveals a menacing wolf figure hiding inside. These BE@RBRICKS come in 400% and 1000% sizes, and are currently available as pre-order on Project 1/6 online store, although unfortunately they are not able to ship overseas. Both of these figures are scheduled for release on Monday, December 12th.

As shoppers along the East Coast begin to sum up the “dent” they created in their wallet this Black Friday. The shopping day is just getting started along the Mid-West, West Coast, and beyond. Same as the previous round-up, we tally a roster of sales and deals taking place today and this weekend, with a focus on the regions west of the Eastern Seaboard, all in the hope to ease the ensuing chaos on shoppers this Black Friday. To better organize the vast information we gathered, this impromptu list of sales will be divided into general geographical zones first, then grouped into large metropolitan areas.
*NOTE* Since we had hundreds of lead to follow-up, most likely we will miss some retailers by accident. If we miss any sale events, simply add it on via: the Comment Section below.

Growth is aplenty at START TODAY, the parent company of ZOZOTOWN online shopping network in Japan. After it announced language support for Chinese, Korean, and English speaking shoppers outside of Japan back in May, the company is pushing further into the untapped Chinese today with the launch of ZOZOTOWN on Tmall, a dedicated site for consumers in China.
Operated as a joint venture out of Hong Kong with Japanese investment giant Softbank, the new site is actually part of TAOBAO.COM, the consumer branch of Alibaba online retail group. Building upon the momentum, START TODAY will also open a dedicated site for South Korea in the coming days. No words if the popular shopping site will reach markets such as U.S. or Europe, though we’re keeping our fingers cross.

Its quite easy to dismiss LEGO as a mere toy for kids. At the hands of those with technical aptitudes and the unassuming plastic connector set becomes stuff of science fiction. After his Tilted Twister 2.0, an automated Rubik’s Cube solver created from LEGO Mindstorms, Swedish programmer Hans Andersson realized his timepiece fascination with the Time Twister. In five different units controlled by two LEGO Mindstorms kits through Bluetooth link, each “digitalized” unit consists of five layers. When the time changes, the layer rotates a full 360 degrees to adjust accordingly. While it might not be the most accurate time telling device, it is a feat of engineering none the less.

American artist Jeff Koons is a celebrated if somewhat divisive figure in the art world, best known for his balloon animals cast in stainless steel and massive topiary sculptures. In 2010 the artist was asked by BMW to design an M3 GT2 as part of the automaker’s ongoing “Art Car” project. Koons consulted with BMW’s head of design Adrian van Hooydonk to ensure the applied graphics wouldn’t adversely impact the car’s aerodynamics, as the vehicle would be entered into the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The M3 GT2, in all its streaky multi-colored glory has now been reproduced as a 1:18 scale model, which comes packaged on an acrylic platform with transparent top. The Art Car is now art that you can own, available starting in December through the BMW Shop.

After this summer’s BELLATOR COLUMBIDAE, or also known as Fighting Pigeon figurine with Adfuncture, Staple Design will recreate its favorite mascot in a 7-inch vinyl facsimile next month, courtesy of Kidrobot. Instead of an aggressive stance like the previous design, Kidrobot’s version has a rather astute posture with its unsightly poop, a rather accurate depiction its feral nature especially in New York City. Aside from the two colorways that will be available, the capsule collection will include matching t-shirts for him or her, key chain, and key cap. The Kidrobot x Staple Design Pigeon 7-Inch Vinyl Figure itself will be limited to 800 pieces worldwide.
