Mark Smith Q&A on the Lance Icons --------------------------------- Futura came up with a set of 26 icons originally, but you expanded it into a language of over 40. Was there any particular significance to the figure 26 – 26 letters in the alphabet? – and why did you add more? There really isn’t any significance to the number 26 – it was actually just a random number of icons Futura originally sent us. I added more in order to bring a deeper, richer story around Lance to this project. We wanted to have a broad language to avoid having to repeat icons over and over again – we wanted to bring as much depth to the language as we could.
