Takashi Murakami's Art and His Success with Creative Industry Lecture in Taipei

This is the very first appearance of Murakami-san in Taiwan. Unsurprisingly he has many fans in this small island country which is the second biggest market for Louis Vuitton in Asia. When Dan and I got the info, the lecture was already all booked up. Fortunately, we managed to get the media invites from D.C.I. (Digital Content Institute) in the very morning of the lecture.

Murakami showed up in Hawaiian shirt and baseball cap, which probably surprised his fans, as fine artists in Taiwan don't usually dress up like an average Joe you see in the Taiwanese night markets . The title of the lecture and the introduction was probably a bit too formal for him. Murakami got a bit nervous from all that artsy fartsiness like he did in his previous lecture in Parsons New York.
