New for Summer 2012 from skate brand HUF is the colorfully named Fuck It Pack, a collection of headwear made up of bucket hats and snapback caps. Each style is finished in three different varieties of camo — granite, sahara and tiger — and adorned with a large embroidered patch trimmed with a distinctly patriotic design and conveying a very disaffected tone. Appropriate for the skatepark or a backyard barbecue where dudes carry their cans of Bud in beer koozies (dirtbag crew indeed), HUF’s Fuck It Pack is available for purchase now exclusively through the brand’s online store.

Tony Hawk Ollies Over A Lexus LFA

Lend a car to a world-class athlete whose stock in trade is gravity-defying feats and chances are he’s not going to just drive it. (See: Blake Griffin and his Kia Optima co-star at the 2011 dunk contest.) It’s a postulation that’s confirmed by skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, who was recently loaned a brand new 2012 Lexus LFA for his 44th birthday. The Lexus LFA is one of the fastest production cars on the market today, its standard trim equipped with a 4.8-liter V10 delivering 552 horses. It retails for about $400,000 and of course Tony Hawk jumped it. Thankfully for us he brought along a camera crew to document the feat. Check out the video below. via: Autoblog

Nike x Tom Sachs – NIKECraft Collection Launch | Event Recap

Yesterday saw the opening of artist Tom Sachs‘ ”Space Program: MARS” exhibition at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. Space travel has long been a prominent theme in Sachs’ oeuvre, and this show is the latest expression of that obsession, transforming the 55,000 square foot space into an “immersive space odyssey that explores a path to discovery through a journey to the red planet.” Objects on display included pieces from Tom Sachs venture with Nike, dubbed the NIKECraft collection, inspired by the notion of blending sport performance and space travel. See images from the NIKECraft launch event below, attendees of which included Julian Schnabel, Nate Lowman and gallery owner Bill Powers, and be sure to check out the “Space Program: Mars” exhibition if you can.

adidas Consortium x Jim Thompson – “Your Story” Matchplay | Detailed Look

In addition to the detailed shots of DJ Muro’s Pro Shell we posted today, shots of Jim Thompson’s contribution to the adidas Consortium “Your Story” campaign are also out to amp up the energy ahead of their Saturday release. The designer from Sydney’s Three Over One transforms the classic Matchplay silhouette to give it an uncomplicated, but vintage look inspired by kicks from adidas’ Track & Field archives. Featuring a black waxed leather upper and a matching pigskin suede toe-box, Thompson’s decision to leave out the inner-line gives this shoe a hand-made feel. A distressed white rubber midsole that matches the branding on the ankle enhance the old-school personality of this sneaker. Three Over One branding finishes off the look under the Tri-Foil tag on the tongue. Look for these and other pieces of the adidas Consortium collection at select retailers beginning Saturday, May 19th.

The Amazing Spider-Man – Is This Peter Parker’s Web Shooter Prototype? | Video

Perhaps borrowing a page from Warner Bros.’ campaign for The Dark Knight Rises, Sony Pictures asked fans to solve subtle clues cryptically left on the multitude of social media outlets for its own summer blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man. The results were unobtrusive look at the creation of Peter Parker’s web shooter. Much like how a spider makes its silk, the web shooter is essentially a depository of inert chemicals, until Spider-Man (aka Peter Parker) push the trigger on his palm. The chemical becomes a cocktail at the end of a nozzle, solidify in the process into a string form that is both stronger than steel and more pliable than gold. From its simple origin as detailed sketches torn out from a scratch pad, Parker went through the D. I. Y. procedural first of transforming the 2-dimensional drawing into a 3-dimensional CAD file, and finally a prototype. More to reveal as the movie’s release date of July 3rd approaches…

adidas Consortium x Kate Moross – “Your Story” BC | Detailed Look

Here’s a detailed look at one of the sneaker styles from the quintet of kicks that make up the upcoming “Your Story” collection from the Consortium imprint of adidas Originals. These BCs come courtesy of Kate Moross, a filmmaker, designer and illustrator from London, whose choice to go the minimalist route works well with the simple lines of the shoe. This BC (formerly known as the Baltic Cup and originally intended for used on handball courts) carries a tonal suede upper adorned with a subtle geometric pattern and flecks of color throughout, providing a welcome contrast to the neutral background. The kicks are slated to land at select retailers on May 19th.

UNDFTD Summer 2012 Collection

We’re on the brink of a new season and that means we’re on track for a new collection by Undefeated, who just wrapped up a triple-brand collaboration. For Summer 2012, the LA brand continues to develop their line-up of short sleeve cotton graphic Tees, offering a selection of Undefeated logos across a range of colors fitting for a blazing sun. The other two pieces rounding out the release is a blue-striped collared button-down and a pair of granite shorts. Overall, the collection is once again very clean, easy-to-wear and certainly something to look out for when they begin to hit UNDFTD Chapter stores and their online shop on Friday, May 18.

Tom Sachs x Nike x Cole Haan – Mission Control Shoes

Only on a few rare occasions in the past has Nike attempted a collaboration with multiple parties and Tom Sachs‘ SPACE MISSION: MARS was just such. Staffers at the exhibition, currently ongoing in New York City, received a pairs of special Cole Haan brogue wingtip shoes. But not just any wingtips, these are specifically made for the event and features pebble grain leather with a subtle trace of the Nike Swoosh on the side. Embedded on the leather outsole were rubber portions in the forms of the Nike Waffle treads as well. In the meantime, Tom Sachs’ SPACE MISSION: MARS exhibition along with his NIKECraft Collection are open to public starting today at the Park Avenue Armory. adidas Consortium x Muro – “Your Story” Pro Shell | Detailed Look

The adidas Originals’ “Your Story” Collection that we have been previewing over the last couple of weeks is teeing up for their May 19 releases. We begin our a series of detailed looks with what DJ Muro’s describes as an “aggressive” version of the Pro Shell silhouette, with strong, deep colors, including dark green and black with pops of red accents on the tongue and heel. DJ Muro used a mix of suede and jersey material with engineered stripes reminiscent of the partial cut-off track top and a his skull and crossbones logo fitting of this shoe’s tough look. The look is topped off with a velcro strap and “Keep on Diggin’” laces. For those who wants to view the design in person, Muro’s kick will be available at select retailers beginning Saturday, May 19th.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” – Surprise Re-Stock at 21 Mercer

Knowing full well the reactions they will receive, Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer did something quite intriguing this morning. A handful of unsuspecting shoppers walked into the store and found a lone Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy sitting on the shelf. Yes, the store secretly restocked its inventory of the prized edition, the same ones that have caused such upheavals across the country just some months ago, overnight. No announcements, nor was there any email, tweets, text, and etc… Employees at 21 Mercer wanted a release much like how it was decades ago, when stores would simply put new sneakers out on display. At the same time, it is also a way to reward their staunchest supporters, who would swing by the store on a daily basis. Unfortunately, within an hour of its release, the store emptied out its entire stock. But do expect the store to repeat similar unannounced re-releases of other highly sought after editions from now on.
