During our brief visit to Liberty Fairs Las Vegas last week, we happened upon an old friend of ours, Hommy Diaz, who is now the Global Product Line Manager for Palladium Boots. A veteran of the footwear business, Diaz’s vast knowledge and contacts means he’s the best person to talk to about the state of the industry. But we were more interested in his Palladium Boots, which turned out to be the upcoming collaboration between Alpha Industries and Palladium Boots. Made accordingly to the specifications of Alpha Industries’ MA-1 Flight Jacket, the boots even feather the same zip enclosure and lining in emergency orange.

Founded by the cult New York artist Dash Snow when he was just 15, the IRAK graffiti crew specialized in tagging, shoplifting and generally living on the edge. Another name synonymous with New York street culture — ALIFE — pays tribute to what it calls the “last of the pre- Internet crews, as well as one of the first to co-sign the current digital scene.” The resulting two-piece T-shirt collection is made up of a heather grey edition featuring the illustrated likeness of the late Dash Snow, plus a second all-white tee adorned with tags from each member of the IRAK crew. Even though it shares the same silhouette and designation as the ZX 500, the new adidas Originals ZX 500 Decon looks nothing like its predecessor. Part of the Spring 2014 Collection, the ZX 500 Decon is made from a mesh/textile construct in an all-black color scheme. No identifiable branding except for the adidas Trefoil insignia on the tongue tag, an all-white outsole and small white crosses accentuate the design even more. Available for purchase at select stores worldwide, like Afew-Store in Dusseldorf, starting this Saturday, March 1st. In addition, a general release is set later for April 1st.

Modeled by the dangerous-looking Brittany Nichole Lucas, the entire AGENDA Show x FILA – Capsule Collection was documented by photographer Van Styles recently. Created by design teams from both AGENDA Show and FILA, the collection is comprised of a t-shirt, track pants, wristband, bucket hat and the signature FILA Overpass Runner. Unfortunately, the items were “gifted” only to VIPs and select attendees of the trade show last week. However, a few lucky souls will be receiving them via mail in the coming weeks as well.

Starting in 2002, Nike and Undefeated periodically joined forces to release collaborative footwear projects that captured the imaginations of sneaker aficionados worldwide while at the same time paving the way for future like-minded brands. In 2014, the partnership is still alive and kicking, yielding a new take on the Nike Lunar Force 1 SP. Following last week’s teaser image and subsequent detailed look, Nike has unveiled the following official images and the project’s release date. The ultra-light Nike Lunar Force 1 — combining Lunarlon cushioning with Hyperfuse construction for an innovative take on the classic AF1 — is adorned here with a distinctive jacquard pattern on both high and low-top silhouettes. The latter makes use of the pattern throughout the upper, while the high-top features a hairy suede upper and showcases the jacquard pattern on the ankle strap for contrast. Look for the kicks to launch through select global retailers starting tomorrow.
