For Spring/Summer 2010, Supreme had collaborated with one of the most important figures in Reggae, Lee Scratch Perry, and rendered the latter’s written work and original artwork into wearable items.
As most would know, Lee Scratch Perry is a quintessential influencer of the Reggae movement and quite a complex and contradictory character. A mentor and a partner to Bob Marley, Perry’s work changed the scene of music in the 1970s, he precipitated every major style change in Jamaica and influenced countless important figures in music including the Beastie Boys, Jay Z, Paul McCartney and Brian Eno. Some of his renowned work includes Max Romeos War Ina Babylon, Junior Murvin’s Police and Thieves (these were later covered by British punk group, the Clash), and some collaborations with Bob Marley such as the perennial Soul Rebels, Soul Revolution, Jah Live and Punky Reggae Party.
Aside from his achievements in the music scene, the doyen is deeply involved in social and political changes. A devote Rastafarian who strangely also believes in extraterrestrials, advocates black supremacy and end to taxation. While Perry continues to wander the world and work in music and experimented in sound through the 80s, he also branched into the realm of fine art through working with British painter Peter Harris.
The collection of two tees feature a picture and free-hand, doodle-like drawings of Perry. The tees are available in-store at Supreme on March 4 and in Japan on March 6 to kick off the warmer seasons. Get a little island-living into the crazed urban routine this season with Supreme and relive a little loving from Perry (dreadlocks not included). Also, remember check out Supreme’s video feature on Lee Scratch Perry.

As evening arrived halfway across the globe in Geneva, Switzerland, Michael Macht, the President and CEO of Porsche AG presided over a special world debut – the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car.

Seattle-born Maiden Noir has been telling tales of the great outdoors for seasons now, rendering sartorial tales of the voyager, the explorer and the sublime experience of nature (once recounted by Thomas Jefferson upon visiting the Natural Bridge.) This season, the label calls for a “Return To Tanner Ridge” with a strong collection of all-American outdoor inspired hunting jackets, chambray shirts, slim khakis, dark denim and tees.
The story of “Return to Tanner Ridge” starts with an abandoned campsite buried deep within the foothills of Granite Pass. The Granite Pass is a part of the Bighorn Mountains stretching through Wyoming and southern Montana. The colors, silhouette, details and fabric are all based off pieces discovered at Tanner Ridge. As such, hunting jackets, field vests, oxford shirts and mountain parkas are doused in palette that sings of the great Northwest American landscape. Different shades of khakis, olives, navy and greys dresses the studied American with a penchant for finding refuge in nature in somber comfort and abundant layering. Tailored shorts with matching chambray shirts and vests are worn with white hunting vests and hooded parkas, or are topped with a colorful plaid ties. The label has also released new denim pieces for its large denim fan base who have deemed the label’s jeans comparable to Japanese denim.
A stoic collection of quiet masculinity, the Return to Tanner Ridge surprises by putting quite an introspective touch on its outdoor inspired collection, bringing a breath of fresh Wyoming air into the rather tired and abused American outdoor trend.

Revered automakers at Aston Martin have collaborated to produce two future-forward sneakers. One is the Hyperdunk High and a Zoom Kobe V gleaming in silver, which we showed you previously. The reference point between Kobe Bryant and the automakers is based on a commercial where the Lakers star leaped over an Aston Martin in 2008. The original commercial was for the Hyperdunk, so now the sneaker finally gets an Aston-Martin style makeover in silver, grey, and red. The tongue features a huge Kobe and Aston Martin logo, with a tonal lacelock that says “I Told You” on one foot and “I got this” on the other–a reference to what Kobe says in the commercial. The Zoom Kobe V is completely silver on the upper, even on the toecap portion. The swoosh is a lighter grey, while the signature red appears on the tongue and heel. This is rumored to be limited to under 500 pairs, so stick with Freshness fore more detailed information on these unique kicks. via: Hi-Kicks

Completing the Supra NS line-up for Spring 2010 (which thus far includes the Cuttler and Assault) is the collection’s latest addition, the Strapped II. The Strapped II is modeled after its predecessor, the heavy-duty buckled-down Strapped (a signature model for indie record label executive turned celebrity DJ and industry tastemaker, Steve Aoki.) The original Strapped was introduced in 2007 reminiscent of a wrestling shoe-cum-strap on sneaker hybrid.
As opposed to the old Strapped, the redesigned Strapped II is whipped into a high-top frenzy with Supra’s signature oversize tongue, roomy width and the NS’s signature rugged rock-and roll aesthetics. The classic four-strap design persists on the new Strapped II with low-profile, upper-matching vulcanized soles. The Strapped II are dropping in three colorways for Spring 2010 in a minimalist bohemian black and white Acid Wash Denim, cool grey Canvas and the tough distressed Black Full-grain leather. The Strapped II come unlaces and the top is meant to be worn with a cool attitude with denim tucked in nonchalantly.
The Strapped II will be dropping over the next two months with the Black Full-grain Leather kicking off the shipment on March 1 and the other two on April 1.

Back by popular demand, New York City’s Dave’s Quality Meat (DQM) joins hands (in a rather pictorial rendition) with adidas again for the adidas Originals Consortium series. Championing well-received simplicity from 2009, the Spring/Summer 2010 collection continues to dress Rod’s OG signature vintage shoes in fresh colorways. The Rod Laver Vintage stays slim and sleek with monochrome shades reworked in warm-weather appropriate materials such as a combination of leather and mesh. The three new shades of lemon peel yellow, nautical navy and a can-do-no-wrong olive bodes well with the summer sunshine.
The best part about the DQM Rod Laver Vintage is the meticulous attention to details put into the shoes. The eyelets are engraved with “adidas Consortium” branding and the collection’s signature handshake logo is also emblazoned on the heel. The Trefoil and DQM double branding are embossed on tongue and even the lace tips are marked with the DQM touch. The DQM Rod Laver Vintage remains versatile with the wardrobe even with new colorways and will be pitch perfect with everything from denim to cargo shorts, khakis and chinos, from tees to button downs and even your vacation ready Hawaiian-shirts.
The adidas Consortium DQM Rod Laver Vintage are set to hit your local Consortium retailers starting March 13, so if you were a fan of the collaboration and can’t wait for a new addition for the season, keep an eye out for them!
