You have to wonder sometimes why ad agencies cut so much out of their commercial. After making its premiere last month for the BlackBerry Style, Jesse Villanueva, the unofficial spokesman for ALIFE, returns this month with the full-length version of BlackBerry Style commercial. Instead of those ill-timed cut away, now we grasp the complete picture including Jesse’s daily routine and cameos by Manny (A.R.C.) and graffiti artist Earsnot of IRAK. See the full version after the jump. Enjoy!

ALIFE Tokyo has a new varsity jacket in the works, given the moniker Antique A, for the calligraphic ALIFE crest logo it bears. Varsity jackets from ALIFE have provided the New York City brand with a platform for expressive design in the past – a colorful version made for ALIFE Rivington Club, and especially the commemorative ODB RIP version created in 2009, to mark the death of the Wu-Tang rapper. This time around, the label sticks to a more conventional collegiate vibe, using melton wool in traditional varsity colors: blue body and bone sleeves, or black body with gray sleeves, with tonal collar, hem, and cuff ribbing. via: ALIFE.

BlackBerry is reaching out to the youth consumer market with the newly launched Style 9670 flip smartphone and the latest “Love what you do” advertising campaign features Jesse Villanueva of A.R.C.. The short segment shows Villanueva on his daily routine relating to his lifestyle and the functionality of the BlackBerry. Villanueva is an avid sneaker collector and he holds it down at Alife Rivington Club as a manager as well. The advertisement connects the passionate nature of Villanueva and it slots smoothly into the campaign with ease. Check after the jump to view the full commercial.

This week is either a bout of disappointment or of victory, depending on whether you are a Lakers fan or a die-hard Celtic’s loyal subject. Or, if you are not quite a sports fan, then this week might have just been like any other week. Unless, you were trying to pre-order the iPhone 4 and was extremely frustrated with the crashing servers and empty promises. Then, yes, this week might not have been so great. However, if you believe in the beauty of cosmic justice, we have proof right here that this week wasn’t so bad. New releases, birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate (CLOT has turned six!) and new tunes and videos we can rock to (thanks to Mark Ronson, Uffie and Pharrell, MGMT and Ok Go). We will steer clear of discussing how Kobe performed rather uncharacteristically for the first three quarters of the game, then somehow, the team managed to pound the Celtics at the very end. And, we will also steer clear of how France lost to Mexico and how England has only tied with Algeria. On the bright side, the Argentinians are perhaps still celebrating for their wonderful victory and four magical goals (sorry to South Korea!). Okay, all sports talk aside, let’s catch a quick, non-adrenaline-pumped breathe and check out what’s worth nothing this week.

When is a beat too loud? When your ears begin to ring? Not yet When your chest cavity is doing rhythmic aerobic on its own? Not quite. You know when the beat is too loud when your heart begin to skip. And a performance worthy of such a feat? No less than ALIFE Courtyard Session lat evening with DJ A-TRAK and DRAKE . Hundred of invited begin the night by surging forward toward the stage, even before the 2 performers arrive in store. Once again, illustrate the popularity of the record-breaking DJ (5 times World Championship, 1st to win 3 major competition venues, and the youngest to win a title at age 15) and the young break out artist of the year. After the initial warm-up, the duo begin a perfectly chorography of rhythm and rhyme. With DJ A-TRAK at helm, carefully ease the pitch and raise the bass, DRAKE dishes out lyrics effortlessly, with a hint of spontaneity as if the song was written hours before. Interject in between, the former actor thank his fans as well as one of his earliest support, ALIFE. As a gesture of gratitude, the performer extend invitation to all those attending, even those uninvited, on stage with him for good old fashion backyard party. Life was never this fun!
Update: Due to safety concern and overcrowded condition. New York Police Department canceled a free concert, featuring DRAKE, last evening at South Street Seaport. In a follow-up interview with radio personality Funkmaster Flex, DRAKE stated “Today was my day and they (cops) took a piece of it”.

Frolic among the Astroturf pitch this weekend as A.R.C. (ALIFE Rivington Club) welcomes the world to its footsteps. Ushering soccer hooligans and fashionistas alike, the Lower East Side institution marked the start of 2010 FIFA World Cup this morning with the opening of World Champions Pop-Up Shop. Co-sponsored by that old English pride, Umbro, the World Champions Pop-Up Shop is away-from-home clubhouse for expats living in New York City. Streamlined and futuristic with neon lighting and glass display, yet oddly homely with the artificial turf pitch. And for those who are unfamiliar with the world’s most popular sport, what better way to learn the lingos, the customs, or just wing it to impress the opposite sex. In addition to the limited edition World Champions Collection (beauties not included), the Pop-Up Shop will offer other exclusive A.R.C. x Umbro items, from penalty cards coasters, labeled beer cozies, water bottles, and a soccer fan must have – whistles.
As part of the A.R.C. Sports storefront right across street from ALIFE, the World Champions Pop-Up Store opens Noon daily for the duration of 2010 FIFA World Cup. Swing by and share the fanaticism!

If there’s an occasion that involves both “sneakers” and “the world”, you can count on New York City’s quintessential A.R.C to be a part of the global fanfare. A veteran of countless sneaker collaborations and also a retailer of exquisite taste in kicks, the store is a part of Reebok Pump 20th Anniversary collaboration releases in North America.

Nestled in between the Jordans, the New Balance, and ASICS in the recent update of A.R.C.’s official online store was this – the highly sought after collaboration Dunk High Supreme TZ with Nike. In all-black as contrast to the all-white Air Force 1, another Nike, A.R.C. collaboration, the deceiving simple suede upper on the Dunk High hides a layer of waterproof technical membrane, developed by the Swiss-base Schoeller. An all-natural gum rubber sole provides supreme grip on any surface. With most sold out at the day of its release back in August, the crew at ALIFE Rivington Club was able to locate a few more pairs. Now available via: online purchase but for a limited time only.

With winter weather setting in, even a simple shopping excursion could become a major logistic task. Hence, the convenience of online store where items could be purchase any day or night with one exception, the difficulty in locating exclusive kicks. It was an exception till A.R.C. (ALIFE Rivington Club) created its own online store a few months back. Just recently, the perennial New York sneaker shop updated the online store’s inventory with several hard-to-find editions. This include the Air Jordan 5 (AJV) in Retro White/Sport Royal/Stealth, Air Max 95 in Mint Colorway, and several of ALIFE’s own collaboration with ASICS. These and other items will be available but won’t be for long.
