ASICS have been the underdog in the sneaker scene, with only a handful of connoisseurs understanding its true potential. Apart from being an excellent running shoe, these Gel Lyte models were developed in 1989 and have attained steady fan base. This particular Gel Lyte Speed model was designed with a lifestyle angle in mind and are dubbed the Tomatoes due to the tomato red highlights. Its distinct split tongue design stands out, thanks to the bright yellow tone pitted against navy foreground. The rest of the shoes are predominantly white and tomato red splatters can be found on the otherwise plain midsoles. Head over to HANON SHOP who are stocking these sneakers in their retail store and online shop.

The concept of Yin Yang is widely recognized by the Taijitu symbol, a circle divided evenly in black and white. Yin Yang refers to the balance in nature, the polar opposite elements such as light/dark, day/night, male/female, hot/cold and so forth. ASICS are launching their Yin Yang Pack made up of their classic Gel Lyte III sneakers. There are two pairs in the pack made exactly the same way, except the colors have been reversed. Both sneakers are made from premium leather and Codura nylon uppers for quality finish and durability. HANON is taking pre-order of these shoes right now with the delivery scheduled for sometime in February.

ASICS‘ North American presence has been growing little by little, and as you certainly know by now one of the guys at the forefront of that movement is Ronnie Fieg. As a longtime collaborator, his KITH retail space is also a resource for killer in-line releases from the running brand. Case in point is this limited batch of winter releases that just popped up, a set of sneakers that wouldn’t typically be in any doors here in the US. Included in the group are three colorful combos of the ubiquitous Asics Gel Lyte III at $80 and a clean black and grey version of the Asics GT-II for $65. Follow us after the jump for a full look at the set and cop yours now from KITH online or at one of their NYC locations.

For the last couple of years, ASICS has been busily rolling out Gel Lyte III releases, but they haven’t forgot about its Speed version, which just launched in a new colorway. Arriving with mainly a black base with multiple hints of grey and yellow, the Gel Lyte Speed is a blend of suede and mesh, making it both a durable and breathable sneaker. It sits atop a think rubber midsole with a grey and black sole and a yellow toe piece. You can pick up this simple and clean sneaker now at Afew.

Ever since Ronnie Fieg kicked off his KITH retail project a few months back, his focus has broadened from the red hot Asics collabos we’ve come to expect to encompass hand crafted garments made right here in the USA. To cap off both of those categories this year is the simultaneous release of the Ronnie Fieg x Asics “Mazarine Blue” Gel Saga and the new Kith Letterman Varsity, of which only 90 and 60 pieces respectively will be available throughout the two KITH spots. Follow us after the jump for the detailed shots of this crazy one-two punch, and if you’ve got plans to cop either you just might want to go get in line.

With ASICS picking up considerable steam stateside in 2011 thanks to the ongoing Ronnie Fieg collaborations, the pressure is on the heavy hitters in the Euro-sneaker to answer back. The good news is this isn’t Patta’s first rodeo, with their upcoming Gel Saga release marking their third get together with ASICS. The clean Dutch colorway gets its inspiration from Amsterdam’s city flag, with the black and red portions pairing up with some X-ed out accents throughout the sneaker. Characteristic of Patta releases, these won’t be very easy to get your hands on, with only 400 pairs dropping worldwide, the vast majority of which will be onsite at their shop in Amsterdam on December 22nd. Follow us after the jump for a detailed look at this killer collabo between Patta and Asics. via HS

Maybe he’ll rest in 2012? Ronnie Fieg appears to have one more trick up his sleeve before the calendar year is over, as he’s released a teaser image of his next collaboration with ASICS, set to drop December 29th. It reveals a temporary halt to the string of massively successful Gel Lyte III designs released by Ronnie, and portends a new direction not far removed from the original — another classic ASICS runner in the form of the Gel Saga, a popular style among the brand’s loyalists. And although we can only see that this Mazarine Blue colorway will feature accenting in black, we’re predicting plenty of green being handed over for this collaborative release.

Amsterdam’s Patta boutique has partnered for a third time with sneaker brand ASICS. Previous collaborative releases came in the form of the popular Gel Lyte III, a trio of Gel Lytespeeds styles, and new for this year, the Gel Saga II. Debuting in 1990, the classically styled runner dropped earlier this year in two OG colorways and is now set to be radically reworked by the good people at Patta. The following teaser images reveal an upper dominated by black and red hues, three Xs at the tongue (presumably signifying the third collaboration), synthetic leather at the heel and perf leather at the collar. (Pony hair is said to be thrown somewhere into the mix as well.) Click through for more looks and stay tuned for details.
*NOTE* The triple-x insignia is actually from Amsterdam’s Coat of Arms and City Flag.

Last week, a stretch of New York City’s Broadway became a dress rehearsal event for this Black Friday when Ronnie Fieg opened the doors to his second retail location, Kith NYC. Located in NoHo (or North of Houston Street), the Broadway and Bleecker Street location is similar to a crossroad where students from NYU, tourists from Asia, and New York locals cross paths on a daily basis. An almost identical demographic was also at the Kith NYC line-up, with some waited up to 4 days just to purchase the collector’s edition of Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Leatherback”. Others came to get the Kith Varsity Letterman Sweatshirt and the few remaining PENDLETON 6-Panel Caps available. For those who waited, their patience paid off tremendously. Kith NYC is located on 644 Broadway, with store entrance on Bleecker Street.

Once again, footwear designer Ronnie Fieg showcased all the nuances on his upcoming collaboration with ASICS, the ASICS Gel Lyte III “Leatherbacks”. Named so because of the smooth black leather appointed to the back end of the sneaker, this particular ASICS Gel Lyte III also include an ample amount of suede in a slightly blueish colorway and an extensive stitch work in vibrant turquoise. All produce a truly fitting piece of art for the opening of Fieg’s second retail location, Kith NYC. Comes in 40 individually numbered wooden boxes with elaborate laser imprints. There will also be ones without the exclusive packaging as well. All to be available this Friday, November 18th, at Kith NYC.
