CONVERSE Addict by NIGO

After a 2-year hiatus from the program, A Bathing Ape founder Nigo will once again contribute to the Japan-only CONVERSE Addict Project with his x Addict All Star Highs. In simple white or brown canvas, each of the editions will include a vertical zip-up on the lateral while preserving the Chuck Taylor patch on the ankle’s medial side. Similar to the 2009 collab, the new collaborations also feature the same Vibram oustoles that made headlines the first time around. At this point in time, the two pairs will only be available through CONVERSE Addict retailers in Japan on March 10th. But with the program’s growing popularity, there just might be a chance  it will become available elsewhere as well…

As part of its A Bathing Ape x Star Wars capsule collection, presents a wool varsity jacket that borrows elements from the classic letterman jacket as well as a hooded duffle coat, resulting in an interesting hybrid imbued with a street-ready edge courtesy of a subtle camo pattern in navy. Details include two-button throat tab, four toggle closure, two flap pockets and contrast colored sleeves with ribbed cuffs. A Bathing Ape x Star Wars T Shirt Collection | Delivery 2

As a way to usher in the New Year, A Bathing Ape is making the second part of its Star Wars collaboration available at select retail outlets in Japan. Similar to George Lucas’ space sage, this latest collection focus mostly on Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, with Baby Milo taking center stage as both Hans Solo (sealed in carbonite) and an officer of the Imperial fleet.  Much sought after by both fans and BAPE followers, the collection just made its early debut on New Year’s Day in Japan with a world wide release coming soon in the weeks ahead.

Even though A Bathing Ape has fallen out of favor in some circles, it is still making headway in several emerging markets, like that of China. Little wonder the brand pulled out all the stops once the clock struck midnight during New Year’s Eve. Introducing the next iteration of Road Sta sneakers by for 2012, designs in supple leather appointed with fluorescent yellow laces, sock liner, and “shooting star” logo in patent leather. Bearing a vague resemblance to the Nike Air Max Wright, it comes in black or light grey colorways, both with contrasting white midsole. Polartec x A Bathing Ape 1st Camo Reversible Fleece Parka

Now with colder weather settling in, A Bathing Ape is making another iteration of its signature 1st Camo pattern available – the 1st Camo Reversible Fleece Parka by and Polartec. Deemed by many as the first name in technical fleece, Polartec, then named Malden Mills, introduced the Polarfleece synthetic fabric in 1979. Almost in an instant, the fabric became a must-have material for outdoor gear, military hardware, and other vital survival tools–so much so, that it was named as one of the 100 most important inventions in the 20th century by Time Magazine.

In this newest collaborative design, A Bathing Ape utilized a rip-stop, weatherproof shell, imprinted with its 1st Camo graphics, as the parka’s exterior. Lined on the interior is a plush layer of Polartec fleece, in either hunter green or black. As the name suggests, the item can be worn inside-out as well. Available now at locations in Japan, its online store, and ZOZOTOWN affiliate. It will also be available at BAPE’s international retail locations in the coming weeks.

A Bathing Ape Mens Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Lookbook

While the economic downturn has certainly been tough on the streetwear market, it has served to weed out the excess a bit. In this day and age only the strong survive, and Japanese giant is certainly one of the strongest, with their pioneering brand of high end apparel and gear still chugging after all these years. Coming down the pipeline for 2012 from is a range that is split between their signature camo print, one of the tasteful remnants from the days of all-over print madness, and more straightforward minimalist pieces. A Bathing Ape x Star Wars Capsule Collection | Delivery 2

Can hear it, that familiar anthem by composer John Williams? After an overwhelming reception of its debut collection, A Bathing Ape and Star Wars will continue their space odyssey once again for the Delivery 2 of x – Capsule Collection. With more of a focus on the last two films of the 6-part saga, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”, the collection extends beyond apparel and accessories to novelties such as key chains, seat cushions, and shot glasses. Similar to the first collection release, A Bathing Ape also organized several in-store events in preparation for the launch. On New Year’s Day, January 1st, it will begin sales at its BAPE Harajuku and BAPE Shibuya in Tokyo, before other retail locations Customers will also receive special gifts as well. A Bathing Ape 1st Camo Flight Jacket

A mere jacket in the likeness of the MA-1 issued by the U.S. Air Force, the 1st Camo Flight Jacket by A Bathing Ape is a careful rendition of the original, with the exception of its camouflage appointment on the nylon twill shell and leather appliqués on front. Based on ’s 1st Camo pattern, hidden among the shades of greens and browns is an logo.
