While we don’t have our jet packs, time machines, or robot butlers, I suppose we can all agree that the announcement of a production model of an all-electric DeLorean DMC-12 set for 2013 is a big step forward for mankind. In this latest video from Translogic, we get another look into the type of power this EV has — its expected to pack 260 horsepower and hit a top speed of 125 mph. Unfortunately, there’s no flux capacitor, but you do get a leather interior, built-in GPS, an iPhone dock, and those iconic gull-wing doors. And while this might not be the most affordable car on the market coming in around $100,000, it will no doubt outperform its gas-powered predecessor with a 0-60 time of just 4.9 seconds. How 260-horsepower looks like on 100% battery power? In a recent DeLorean Motor Company open house event, a few autoheads had the opportunities to take the new DeLorean DMC-12 Electric Vehicle out for a spin on Houston Motorsports Park. Said to be able to reach a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour, the $100,000 vehicle make its round on the race track with an almost inaudible “hmmm” noise. Sorry but Flux Capacitor is still not an optional add-on yet. via: Autoblog Green

DeLorean Motor Company, based out of Humble, Texas, has announced it’s working with electric car startup Epic EV to put an all-electric DMC-12 into production by 2013. DMC has been in the business of restoring DeLoreans or even assembling new cars to order, as the company maintains a large inventory of original parts. The electric model is expected have a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour and a motor that delivers 260 horsepower, with an MSRP around $100,000. Now we’re just hoping for a press release announcing the production run of Marty McFly’s hoverboard. via: Autoblog

Believe us when we tell you that we were “armed” to the teeth for Black Friday, that one day of the year all trend reporters lived for. First, we had a dozy of a checklist ranging from down jackets, thermal long johns, lounge chairs and so on. One of us, not at liberty to say who, wore the complete set of Nike Pro Combat gear, just in case the shopping crowd becomes unruly. Like trained Special Forces operators, we dispersed through key shopping locations and waited…and waited some more. The chaos that was to be, the raging hoard that was to come, the hair yanking middle age housewives, the fist throwing college grads, the cute kid with malicious intentions… were all gone? Instead, the anticlimactic Black Friday was one of well-behaved shoppers and UGG wearing tourists. And so, we retreated to more familiar ground, our office, and plotted our next step. While our Black Friday was a dud, merchandisers nevertheless geared up with high anticipation in mind. Slim Chin, the Beast from the Far East is back with a brand new remix. Another returnee is DeLorean, the star of Back to the Future trilogy, with brand new collabs. What it lacked in time travel ability, the BMW 7-Series by Steinway Piano made up in embellishments and styles. But if practicality is what you are looking for, than the CONVERSE Chuck Taylor Duffle Coat may be just the holiday gift for you. So take a moment to digest that days-old stuffing your mother in-law made (taste like sawdust), cause the holiday shopping season just got started…

It seems like once a year, or every six months, everyone gets Back To The Future fever. Or maybe at this point the Delorean DMC-12 is just a permanently valid cultural reference. Whatever the case, we’re getting near that critical 88 miles-per-hour point, with a Nike Delorean Dunk released on Monday, and now this 500GB Delorean flash drive. This desk toy/tool is a 1/18th scale reproduction of the stainless steel car immortalized by the BTTF movies, and is produced by Flash Rods, who make a variety of collectible flash storage devices. The particularly nerdy might complain that the device isn’t USB3 compatible, but unless you’re transferring Terabytes of data, this probably won’t matter. The Delorean flash drive keeps it true to the movie prop, with orange and white 1950′s style rims, and a Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor (the Time Machine’s power source). It’s maybe ironic that more data can be stored on this drive than would ever go into a Delorean, but that’s part of the absurd appeal of having it on your desk. The Back to the Future Nike is here! (Disclaimer: Marty McFly did not wear this one. But it is Back to the Future, and it is Nike). Pop culture symbols, cars, and icons are traditional sources of design inspiration for sneakers, but this project brings together all three. The Delorean x Nike 6.0 Dunk, set for release this Friday, November 26th, takes design cues from the one and only DMC-12, AKA the time machine/car from the decade-defining 1980′s movie franchise. Staying true to the famous stainless-steel body of the Delorean, this dunk features a one-piece style upper, created from a textile material similar to the Foamposite-inspired Jordans we’ve been seeing this Fall. The details are authentic and nice: a “Belfast” tongue tag (homage to the original Delorean factory in Ireland). And the Gullwing doors? A modified eyestay features a bit of extra lift, mimicking the famous lifting motion of doors. Possibly the nicest Delorean echo is in the sole, which faithfully reproduces the orange-red-white tail of the car. Rounding out the experience is a matte silver Delorean-inspired box that opens with two lifting sides. Production numbers haven’t been confirmed yet; but this is nice dunk, and a huge gift from Nike to the 6.0 line. Look for Delorean x Nike 6.0 Dunk on Black Friday November 26th, 2010 at Nikestore.com, Niketowns, and select Nike 6.0 retailers.

Perhaps one of the most extensive look at the DeLorean Motor Company in recent time (and deservedly so), Bobby Hundreds’ month-long chronicle of his favorite auto company comes to an end this morning as The Hundreds launch its DeLorean Motor Company collaboration at its 2 flagship locations and limited retail outlets selected by the DeLorean staff. Among the many DMC-12 theme designs is this special New Era 59FIFTY Fitted Cap. Accentuated with not 1 but 3 aluminum “Adam Bomb”, a caricature long associated with The Hundreds, on front. The fitted cap features an original DMC logo embroidered onto the rear and a graphical imprint of DMC-12 signal light arrangement under the cap’s brim.

Part history lesson, part photojournalism, The Hundreds‘ own Bobby Hundreds been documenting his journey to the DeLorean Motor Company for the past several weeks. Now, all the stories and images will come to a culmination as The Hundreds preview its collaboration collection with DeLorean Motor Company. Scheduled to launch this Thursday, December 3rd, the new The Hundreds x DeLorean Motor Company Collection feature 5 different graphic renderings of the late 70′s classic, each superimposed with The Hundreds’ trademark caricatures. The Hundreds x DeLorean Motor Company will be for sale at its flagship stores in Los Angeles and San Francisco first, with availability through its online store in a future date.

Bobby Hundreds gives us a preview of the upcoming The Hundreds and DeLorean Motor Company collaboration that will be debuted at The Hundreds LA and The Hundreds SF in the coming weeks. Here is a preview of the collaboration starting with the DeLorean Motor Company factory in Houston, Texas which features images of the only model DeLorean ever produced the DMC-12.
