Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy | Preview

Last month, NASA’s Kepler spacecraft led astronomers to discover two Earth-sized planets orbiting a distant star. While this was exciting news for the scientific community, the worldwide league of Foamposite fans were similarly anxious about the discovery of a new galaxy of a different sort — namely, a celestially themed “Galaxy” colorway of the Air Foamposite One, images of which have been making their rounds across the Internet. While release info has yet to surface for these heavenly kicks, they join the Metallic Red and Electrolime colorways of Foamposite Ones that are on sneakerheads’ radar for the coming year. via: DJCK

Nike Stadium MFG Features – Amare Stoudemire Destroyer Jacket

Just as the private preview event for ’s latest Always On film gets underway with Amar’e Stoudemire at Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer, its counterpart, Nike Bowery Stadium NYC, showcased Stoudemire’s new bespoke Destroyer Jacket. Done on the premises, Stoudemire carefully picked out the theme in time for the holiday season. Himself dubbed a Renaissance Man, Stoudemire offered some insights on his interests, as well as on a never-ending, age-old intellectual conflict: the debate between science, represented by the patch “E=MC2″, and religion, in the form of the letters “YHWH”, a common acronym for God in the Old Testament.

You, too, can customize your very own Destroyer Jacket by visiting Nike Bowery Stadium NYC for more information. In the meantime, join in the Always On Live event at this moment through Livestream and win your own pair of Air Force 1 Bespoke – Always On Live edition.

Sneaker Con NYC – 12 10 2011 | Event Recap

It was a curious coincidence with a Lamborghini Gallardo parked right in front of the venue but Sneaker Con NYC went without a hitch yesterday afternoon at 151 Sullivan Street. Thanks mostly to an unexpected mild winter day and last minute holiday shoppers, the event drew another record breaking crowd. In fact, so many attended the event that the line-up to get in formed beyond a city block. Similar to any well organized chaos, the event was quite daunting for those unfamiliar with the landscape. For most however, it was like any swap-meet/flea market, with exception this one dealt mostly in sneakers. Right at the front of the entrance, the guru of squeaky clean kicks, Mr. Jason Markk, was there in-person with his specially formulated cleanser, many would attest to on how it worked wonders on their prized processions. At the event space’s end, adidas Originals showcased its Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. Attendees also saw, for the first time, the adidas Originals Jeremy Scott Collection for Spring/Summer 2012, Another highly anticipated collaboration, the EXTRA BUTTER x Reebok Pump AXT “AHCHOO”, made a first-time appearance in public as well. Folks in attendance took part in the showcase feature of their collections with plenty of Foamposites, Jordans, Air Yeezy, even several Nike MAGs.   Of course, the success of this latest NYC was largely because of support from folks like , of Team ATF, Premium Pete, and vendors who took part in it. As the year comes to a close, Sneaker Con will make one last stop this Saturday, December 17th, when the craziness moves to Los Angeles Convention Center in Downtown L.A. for the first time. Stop by to see what is everyone talking about if in the area. Meanwhile, see if you (or your kicks) made it onto our extensive event coverage after the click…

Nike Harajuku NIKEiD Session With DJ Clark Kent + Photographer Jonathan Mannion

There is an extemporaneous element to any excursion. But to meet two fellow creative types from New York half the way around the world was too much of a coincidence and exactly what took place over the weekend in Tokyo. On a quick visit to Nike Harajuku, we stumbled upon and Photographer Jonathan Mannion in the midst of their NIKEiD sessions. Both were in town for Mannion’s photo retrospective hosted by Stussy Japan and retailer Lafayette. While we sat in just when the designs took shape, it was clear from the start that Kent immediately went for the Air Force 1. Mannion, however, was in the mood to experiment and chose the Air Max 90 Hyperfuse instead. For those not able to attend the exhibition, Stussy and created a collaborative graphic tee series based on ’s portraits, all are now available through Lafayette online store.

Nigel Sylvester x Casio G Shock GD100NS 7 Launch Party | Event Recap

There is never a dull moment in Nigel Sylvester‘s life. The Queens-native works hard, ride even harder, and party the hardest. Thursday evening was no exception with the street style BMX rider unveiled his signature Casio G-Shock timepiece, the GD100NS-7, and officially joined the Casio action sports roster. Hosted by Nigel’s “Big Brother” DJ Clark Kent and dear friend “Hawaii” Mike Salman, in conjunction with the rider’s long time sponsor , the event was a familiar redux to Nigel’s birthday party a several months back. Similar to that event, the venue was at capacity even before it started. Yet, folks still found ways to congratulate Nigel at the penthouse suite of The Hotel on Rivington, from , Mel D Cole (Village Slum), Dee & Ricky, DJ Soul, Billionaire Boys Club, L.R.G., Nike Sportswear, AM PM New York, Mishka, ALIFE, and etc…  Even a dapper Pharrell swung by to wish his friend the best. In the meantime, the Nigel Sylvester x Casio G-Shock GD100NS-7 will be available in the coming weeks at G-Shock specialty stores around the world.

DJ Clark Kent x Nike LeBron 8 112

At the rate he’s going, ’s abilities as a sneaker designer may someday rival his skill set as a DJ/record producer. The latest exhibit — a Nike LeBron 8 done up in the color scheme of the 112 Pack from a few years ago. And while essentially a repeat of the LeBron 7 112, this latter model is a superior framework for the familiar black/elephant/neon elements that sneaker aficionados have come to love. Regretably, these will likely be a friends and family release, so try not to dwell on the tragic near impossibility of obtaining your own pair while you gaze at more images following the jump. via: Air_Andy/R3TRO

UMBRO New York Cosmos Blackout Collection Launch | Event Recap

In an afternoon’s time,  staff members from Reed Space and UMBRO transformed the Lower East Side boutique into space-time vortex with collected newspaper clippings, discarded boomboxes, along with ample amount black paint. All in homage to one defining moment in New York City’s modern history, the Blackout that took place on July 13th, 1977. While most of the soccer enthusiasts and NYC’s most fashionable in attendance last night were too young to recall, the mood set by charred walls, imagery of the 1977 riots, and vintage photographs all served as mediums. The audience was enthralled further by the special “blackout” cocktails and a 70s music selection by our friend , who happened to start his DJ career in 1977. For those who missed out on the time wrap experience, there is still an opportunity to recreate a sliver of 1977. Just visit the new x Blackout Pop-Up Shop at (next door to ), where the whole New York Cosmos Blackout Collection is available for sale from now till July 27th.

Sneakerpedia By Foot Locker NYC Launch Party | Event Recap

When the party is to mark the launch of Sneakerpedia, hosted by Mayor, DJ Clark Kent, DJ Greg Street and headlined by Bun B., it is safe to assume audience members will be rocking some serious heat at the event. Despite the week-long down pour in New York City, everyone was “dressed to impress” at last night’s launch event for Sneakerpedia by Foot Locker. Ready to put their “best feet” forward, the crowd gathered at Hudson Hotel‘s Good Units wore not just the newest kicks available, but some of more rarefied editions. Certainly there were plenty of Air Jordans, Air Force 1s, and Dunks. But spotted in the midst were also the original Air Max 90 “Bacon” by DQM, deadstock SB What The Dunk, currently priced at $1,000, and the even rarer Space Jam-inspired Air Force 1 Bespoke made by Bun B himself. Naturally, footwear designer Ronnie Fieg was representing his own model and All Day from Team ATF finally brought out his camouflage AF1 Bespoke. See what other hard-to-find editions we saw at last night’s event…

DJ Clark Kent X Nike Trainer SC 2010 112 Pack Colorway

DJ Clark Kent‘s affection for sneakers is not limited to only Air Force 1s. In fact the Brooklyn-base spin-meister is effectively a one-man design firm, able to churn out creations with little effort. It is no wonder he claims NIKEiD Lab at Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer as his “second home”. One particular edition Kent’s been working on is his reinterpretation of the Nike Trainer SC 2010. Donned up in his signature black upper, 3M reflective toe cap, a mix of volt green and elephant pattern, the special edition is most likely one-of-one for Kent only. But then again, you never know…
