Japanese sculpture artist Haroshi took approximately six months to produce all of the artwork for HUF. Haroshi and his works were welcomed with open arms at the HUF x Haroshi x DLX opening ceremony. The event was attended by many skaters and guests, filling up the large warehouse venue. While the guests enjoyed the artwork, live performances were provided, courtesy of Tommy Guerrero, Money Mark, Ray Barbee and Fredo Ortiz. To wrap up the night, they had a high ollie contest using the fire hydrant sculpture, which was gradually made higher as the competition went on. Check out the video recap, which was shot and edited by Martin Reigel, after the jump.

The big buzz surrounding the HUF x HAROSHI x DLX team up finally came to a head this weekend, culminating in the event opening over the weekend out in LA. Haroshi’s trademark approach of recycling skateboard decks into sculptures was on full display, with a range of pieces representing riders like Dennis Busenitz, Peter Ramondetta, Tommy Guerrero, and even the man himself Keith Hufnagel. The show definitely stands as a testament to the insane craftsmanship of Haroshi, as the artist is seemingly able to wrought the planar surface of a deck into any shape. Follow us after the jump for a gallery of shots from the event from Bobby Hundreds.

Some days can be overwhelmingly great, yet there are times when you feel that things can not possibly get any worse but they do. HUF have designed a collection of items for the latter times, making it a perfect way to express your feelings towards the world. The ‘Fuck It!’ Pack is made up of three 5 panel snapback caps and three t-shirts, each piece revolving around a military themed design. The body of the snapback caps are made from three different camouflage patterned fabrics which are set off by suede visors with 7 oz. canvas under-visor. All caps prominantly displays the ‘Fuck It!’ patch on the front panel and the same graphic is screen printed on the front of the t-shirts as well. These items are sold exclusively on the HUF online store right now.

With all the teaser videos being released for the HUF x Haroshi x DLX collaboration that launches this weekend, the anticipation is definitely building up. In this latest video, the extent of craftsmanship which goes into each sculpture and piece of artwork is displayed. Haroshi has worked on six original pieces that are all constructed from used skateboard decks. As far as we can see, the pieces included in the drop are a custom-made guitar, HUF Zinger skateboard, giant skateboard wheel with skateboard wheels as bearings, a lion head with moving eyes, a HUF-inspired sculpture and the 3D arm. Don’t miss out this opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.

Known for his broad brush strokes of paint on canvas, it was more than fitting for photographer Brian Kelley to document the creative process, in black and white, of graffiti artist HAZE at work in his studio. Currently available for purchase thorough HUF‘s online store, the capsule collection by both Eric Haze and Keith Hufnagel reminisced the simple designs of old. Consists of graphic tees, snap-back caps, and the ubiquitous skate deck, all donned with the word “HUF” in various styles by HAZE. Some are familiar, others not so much, but all are glimpses of an artist’s progression from the seedy streets to the gallery scenes.

For Holiday 2011, longtime cornerstone of the SF/LA skate scene HUF has released a capsule collection featuring the artwork of seminal NYC graffiti artist Eric Haze. Haze was behind one of the iconic tags of the 1970′s in New York, and rose through the 1980′s to become one of the most prolific and respected street artists in the world. As graffiti matured and was adopted by the gallery set, Haze evolved too – opening his own design studio in 1986 to express the vitality and grit of street culture through graphic design. Haze went on to launch a clothing line of his own in 1993, which was a precursor to the streetwear boom of subsequent years. After all this time, his clean and iconic hand style is as relevant as ever, and refreshingly simple and attractive – which makes it a great compliment to Huf’s own clean perspective on streetwear. The collection consists of a series of three t-shirts, snapback hats, and a vibrant skate deck, all available now at HUF. It’s a solid collection for any HUF fan, and there are some must-cops for HAZE fans. Check out the collection after the jump, and go to HUF to buy.

HUF is still going strong, its longevity owing to founder Keith Hufnagel’s unwavering vision and commitment to growth. In the summer of 2010 HUF launched its own footwear line, realizing a goal that Keith had for the brand since the very beginning. The inaugural collection reflected Keith’s background as a pro skater and avid sneaker enthusiast, combining both skate functionality with a classic lifestyle aesthetic. That spirit lives on in the footwear lineup for Holiday 2011, which introduces a new model, the Cooper in beeswax premium leather, along with fan favorites like the HUF 1, Choice, Hupper, and Tahoe. The collection is available now through HUF’s online store.
