After its introductory video last week, adidas Originals released a few glimpses of the upcoming adidas Originals by David Beckham – Design by James Bond Collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Told through the thoughtful design of UNDFTD‘s co-founder James Bond, adidas Originals by David Beckham is always a careful curation between Beckham’s personal style and the causal lifestyle of a sprawling city like Los Angeles. Both trend setting and a reflection at the same time, the collection is indicative of the symmetry of leisure and work, as told through the collection’s colors and silhouettes. A total of 21 apparel pieces and 5 footwear designs, the adidas Originals by David Beckham/Design J. Bond – Spring/Summer 2012 Collection will be available starting February of 2012.

Whereas this season was about an effortless stroll through Los Angeles’ night sky, the upcoming collection from adidas Originals by David Beckham will be more of an exploration of this urban sprawl. And while the collection still retains that notable fusion between athletic wear and leisure lifestyle, the collection’s designer, UNDFTD‘s co-founder James Bond, took a “taut and streamlined” design approach this coming season and more in-tune to active wear in forms. The silhouettes are unequivocally those from American lifestyle, something intended by UNDFTD founder James Bond for adidas Originals by Originals David Beckham. From the MA-1 Aviator Jacket inspired outwear to the refined active wear highlighting Beckham’s new hometown, the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is a blurring of soccer pitch and grass yard. Each made to be easy transition piece, not only between seasons but time within a day in an active lifestyle. Look for the collection at adidas Originals by Originals retailers in the coming months.

Iconic midfielder David Beckham is expecting again. No, not his fourth child but expecting as in the new additions to his adidas Originals by Originals line. Designed in part by UNDFTD‘s James Bond, the British transplant just shipped some of his early creations for Spring 2011 like the new renditions of adidas Superstar, the Superstar Saddle DB. Appointed with fabric mesh with application of white leather around the mid section, the Superstar Saddle DB harks back to the saddle shoes of old, though not losing the label’s sport lifestyle theme. Minus the 3-stripe in all white or white/navy, the adidas Originals by Originals David Beckham – Superstar Saddle DB is now available at Proper with retail price of $160.

Over the weekend, James Bond left his folks at UNDFTD and flew across the Atlantic Ocean to launch the adidas Originals by Originals David Beckham by James Bond Fall/Winter 2010 collection at London’s retailer extraordinaire, Selfridges. While Becks didn’t make an appearance, Bond was there to share the design concept and some insights into the collection with the camaraderie of fans who turned up for the event. The collection which is built with one part British tailored sophistication and one part American sports casual, is everything manly and cool with none of that circulation-cutting-slimmer-than-thou-denim nonsense.

This new shoe may be called Stripes, but the details are all in the heel this season for adidas Originals by Originals David Beckham by James Bond. For the football star and footwear mogul’s collaborative line with adidas Originals by Originals, the duo had designed a fresh silhouette, Stripes, for the line up. Stripes is inspired by the adidas Montreal raised heel and 80s football style. The low-top features a black leather, suede and nylon upper with beige leather accents on heel and tongue. Aside from the collapsible raised heel, the sneakers are kept clean and easy in all black and neutral shades like the rest of the line, targeting the unfussy sporty gent. The sneakers are currently available at retailers such as Shelta.

Deemed as the most wearable collection out of all three adidas Originals by Originals lines, James Bond and David Beckham proves that bringing the great American sportswear tradition together with British sartorial nuance means one well-dressed man who looks good without flashing on the radar. The easy wearing collection stands out with a relaxed silhouette that would fit your average joe (no futile attempts to force your regular guy next-door into denim skinnies). The collection continues to win over hearts of man who are not about to hop on replacing their wardrobes every season with an understated palette of stable blacks, greys and neutral shades. However, don’t mistake subtlety for lackluster designs, and thoughtful and interesting details such as suspenders, buckled detail on puffy hooded vests add a fun dimention to the collection. Preppy, classic menswear fabrication such as tweed gives the sportswear silhouettes a tailored look. Check out the lookbook, and these should be hitting retailers pretty soon in October as well.

For the double B team, Bond and Becks (James Bond of UNDFTD and soccer star, David Beckham), style is about reduction, and good design about finding beauty in the classic and minimal. For their continued collaborations with adidas Originals by Originals set to deliver for Fall/Winter 2010 in October, Bond and Becks have decided to rework some of adidas Originals’ classic styles including the Forum Mid and the ZX Trail Mid. For the Forum Mid, Bond has stripped the kicks off its three-stripes and strapes for a slimmer, pared down and more sophisticated look. Meanwhile, the ZX Trail Mid is a happy matrimony of ZX8000 and the Marathon Mid Gore-Tex from Bond and Beck’s creation for adidas ObyO last season, sans the spikey outsoles. As per mentioned, these are set to hit the select retailers soon in October, so keep an eye out for them! via: EU Kicks

Perhaps one of the biggest causes of celebration this week comes from the hopeful news of BP containing the ridiculous oil spill. Since Thursday, when new caps on the valves are closed, there has been no report of oil leaking into the Gulf anymore. Finally, an epic disaster comes to a seeming resolution. While exploring the concept of corporate responsibility, Philip Morris has been exposed to be using child laborers in Kazakhstan, giving non-smokers more reason to dislike the carcinogenic company. Perhaps, some Philip Morris consumers will be rallying for ethical smokes? Regardless, in a slightly more frivolous world of kicks and fashion, (and on a more lighthearted note) labels have been fulfilling their corporate duties by releasing first looks into next season’s collections. For instance, adidas Originals by Originals have finally dropped the looks that will be hitting racks in August and so did Vans, and so on and so forth. Check out some key things that happened this week, and be sure you are staying on top of things!

After showcasing the stylistic possibilities with the adidas Originals by Originals James Bond for David Beckham Look Book, now we have a closer look at the items that made the effortless, casual manly looks possible. The key to dressing down without looking frumpy according to James Bond’s American sportswear sensibility and David Beckham’s British sartorial classicism comes in the form of a well cut black and grey striped rugby polo, a button down shirt with contrasting sleeves which has a little bit of a 90′s throwback a la Chandler from Friends, a sensible cardigan hoodie and a timeless black crewneck sweatshirt. Add complexity by layering, and top everything off with a good pair of sneakers with subtle details and mature palette, and any man will be ready to go. Check out the detailed looks and be convinced that it is okay to wear sweat pants with suspenders provided they are cut right.

It has been a few seasons, and what we have learned is that it is impossible to get disappointed by the great American simplicity in adidas ObyO James Bond for David Beckham line-up. For the past two seasons, sturdy and generous silhouettes have won over hearts of men who like things abbreviated and masculine. This Fall/Winter the man of UNDFTD and Beckham rolled out premium leather in a vintage, outdoor earthy tone for the urban-ready low-top, and laced up with matching leather laces. By the looks of it, this leather will age and distress with wear, and so each pair will grow into its distinct personality as its user takes it on trips all over the world. Looks like next season will once again, be a promising one for adidas ObyO James Bond for David Beckham. via: Shoes-Up
