James Jarvis x Russell Waterman x Amos The Wisdom of Caleb | Site

English artist, , has partnered up with artist, Russell Waterman (one half of the brains behind Wonder Women of America published in 2008) to create an interesting online comic blog, The Wisdom of Caleb, for toy store, Amos. James Jarvis had just been enlisted by not too long ago as a part of its Six Collaborations project. Like many other comic strips, The Wisdom of Caleb attempts to philosophize life through the lens of an innocent heart, in this case, protagonist Caleb. The intriguing thing however, is that The Wisdom of Caleb is very mediocre, and quite unapologetically so, perhaps conveying a point. It is not particularly funny, and sometimes, it is not particularly smart. It is like a collection of observation vignettes that just has the reader beckoning for more. Check it out!

Stussy x James Jarvis T Shirts

Stussy got together with graphic artist and illustrator James Jarvis out of London for several graphic t-shirts. The styles of both and Jarvis blend in harmony as the comical character becomes the focal point of the items. The Reasonable Volume design is a witty with the phrase that reads “Please play at a reasonable volume” and the character holding a large boom box. On the other hand the Keep Your Art design comments on the art world featuring the character with the same expressionless face. Lastly the Dance First design is a likable design that prompts for action and being active. Nike Co Lab Hoodie England/James Jarvis | Brazil/Nunca

As previously reported, Nike Sportswear has collaborated with six renowned contemporary artist this season to create special footballer’s kits for fans to celebrate and commemorate the 2010 FIFA World Cup. While we have already shared pictures of the tee shirts created by English artist James Jarvis and Brazilian artist Nunca for this occasion, here are hoodies by respective artists to top over the silk-screened graphic tees.

The loyalty toppers come in matching colorways for each country– Jarvis’ hoodied being grey with red accents and Nunca’s are blue with green and yellow accents. The graphic themes also fall in line with the tees. Nunca adopts Incan symbolism and a primitive style of graffiti known as “Pixacao” for the hoodie, lining the blue hoodied with a yellow tribal printed lining. Meanwhile, the chest logo is an eye-like crest which encompasses five stars to symbolize Brazil’s five championship titles in worldcup and special hieroglyphic type to connect his modern wearer with his ancient roots.

As for Jarvis, the number “10″ found on the grey hoodie is a representation of perfection as the number has been traditionally reserved for the most beautiful player of the game. A text embroidery logo of “England” in ye olde fancy English font gives the hoodie a wonderful medieval tune. Both hoodies are now available online at Nike Store alongside the tees, so affiliate and get into the game as the world gears up for some soccer action.

Nike Co Lab T Shirts England/James Jarvis | Brazil/Nunca

As a part of Nike Sportswear’s Spring/Summer 2010 Campaign, the label is conducting a massive collaborative project known as the Six (6) Collaboration. Sportswear enlisted the help of six highly respect artist in the contemporary culture from six different countries to develop a fun, contemporary twist on the traditional football kits also to celebrate 2010 FIFA World Cup. The fan football kit includes items one would find in a footballer’s bag such as a N98 Track Jacket, AW77 Hoodie, kit tee, polo shirt, shorts and tee.

In terms of the collaboration, tees from the project are now available for order online via: Nike Store, and two of the colorways to drop are created by English artist, James Jarvis, and Brazilian artist, Nunca. Each artist put his own twist and local flavor into the tee for a little fan loyalty. adopted his humorous perspective on the national England archetype by reworking the iconic heraldic lions with his signature googly-eyed grin. The usually stately lion hogs a ball like a kitten and holds up a cheerful peace sign, appearing more like a strange but friendly Cheshire cat than royal feline.

As for Brazil’s Nunca, the artist draws inspiration for his graphics on the green (green being one of the national colors for Brazil) tee from Incan symbolism and art. A tribal figure is reworked in a flat, black and white colorway and visually invites all to dissect and figure out the tribal elements of the piece.

Both tees are designed for high performance with low-environmental impact with graphics screen-printed on 100% organic cotton. If you find your loyalty on the same line with either England or Brazil, click over to Nike Store for the tees.
