It looks like 2012 will be a great year for Lexus, as the buzz of the LF-LC concept car spreads across the media like wild fire, and now they give us a glimpse of their one-of-a-kind LFA Roadster concept. The stage was set up at the Tokyo Auto Salon to showcase the capabilities of the brand new Toyota 86, known as the Scion FR-S here, but Lexus threw in a huge surprise for the audience. It is hard to decide what was more breathtaking, to see the LFA Roadster in real life, or the fact that it starts to drift around upon entering the mini-circuit. This drop-top concept is the only one in existence right now, and these types of antics can only happen in Japan. Click after the jump to check out the full video of the LFA getting sideways.

We can tell you that the new Lexus LFA (Lexus’ super car) is built with a 4.8 L V10 engine, has 345lbft of torque, revs up to 9,000 RPM and can sweep from 0-62mph in a mere 3.7s. And, we can even tell you that in comparison to the Audi R8 4.2, the Audi is slightly under-performing with a V8 engine, and needs 4.4s to go from 0-60mph (Not that it’s anything horrendous, really.). However, what we cannot tell you with jargon and numbers, is how powerful the LFA actually is, and one would need a video to truly understand what all these statistics mean.

A special edition of the Lexus LFA has surfaced with preliminary images giving indication of the modification to the vehicle. As far as the aesthetics are concerned, the sports car is modded with a front lip spoiler, canards, rear wing, custom wheels and special limited edition color scheme ranging in black, matte black, pure white and orange as seen in the photos. Lexus increased the power in this model through the 4.8 liter V10 engine that pushed out around 570 PS/419 KW/562 HP which is an improvement of 10 PS/7 KW/10 HP compared to the standard model. Suspension have been given an improvement as well as quicker transmission aiding the performance. via: WCF

Its unfortunate that lost in the midst of Toyota’s woes last week was the official pricing announcement on the automaker’s first exotic car, the LFA from its premium brand Lexus. Right after Toyota axed production of its Supra coupe in 2002 (1998 in the US), car enthusiasts have been clamoring for its substitute – a performance-oriented coup. With the creation of the LFA, that void in Toyota and Lexus product line is finally filled.
UK’s popular automotive TV show Top Gear is known for their unique auto journalism and their antics on and off the road. They recently had the chance to take the Lexus LFA through its paces on the private track. Richard Hammond got behind the wheel and pushed the vehicle for an honest review of the car. Hear the engine roar and take the corners and straights at great speeds. One thing that was mentioned was its price point which is considerably more than the Ferrari 599 GTB. What ever the case at least this segment proves the LFA to be in the supercar category.

In a time when many automotive companies are making hybrids and electronic cars, Lexus has finally unveiled its super car at the Tokyo Motor Show. The rear wheel drive LFA is powerful with its 4.8 litre V10 powerplant pushing 560ps (552bhp) at 354 lb-ft of torque that revs up to 9,000 rpm redline. Mated with six speed sequential gearbox and clocking 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds at top speed of 202 mph.
Aesthetically though, it could be divided with a mixture of straight edge and curves creating an aggressive look. One thing that will cause for a consideration is its price point at $375,000 and only 500 units will be produced. Via: Autoblog
