This coming New York Fashion Week, the townies from “South Park” will take the Big Apple by storm thanks to designer Marc Jacobs and brand president Robert Duffy. Featuring Eric Cartman, Randy Marsh and Butters Stotch from the gut-busting animated series “South Park”, each caricature bared it all with the exception of carefully placed message “Protect Your Largest Organ” on a trio of cotton tees. The strip tease is actually to raise awareness on skin cancer (skin is actually the largest organ on your body) and the proceeds from t-shirt sales go to The Interdisciplinary Melanoma Cooperative Group at New York University. All three are now available for US$ 35 each at Marc Jacobs retail locations and online store.

Though its official product name is “Wingtip Sneakers”, the new causal styling footwear from fashion guru Marc Jacobs is awfully similar to designs by Common Projects. A rubber sole with stitching in similar light blue along with a gold stamped Marc Jacobs branding complete the look. Available first at Marc Jacobs boutiques worldwide, the footwear is also now available at exclusive retailers like Tokyo’s RESTIR.

An upcoming book by Rizzoli, the publishing house noted for its hardcover art and design tomes, examines the Louis Vuitton empire through the two figures most responsible for its place in the fashion firmament, founder Louis Vuitton and designer Marc Jacobs. Author Pamela Golbin splits the book into two parts: the first chronicles Vuitton’s ascendancy, and how he was able to transform his small artisanal company into the premier luxury trunk supplier for Parisian society’s elite in the late 1800s. These chapters are highlighted by never before seen images of his early works. The second half focuses on the Marc Jacobs era of the brand, begun in 1997 when the mercurial designer was appointed creative director. Jacobs’ imprint was solidified with a successful apparel line, as well as a series of collaborations with contemporary artists and designers, including Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince and Stephen Sprouse, that effectively altered the direction of the historic label. Publication for Louis Vuitton/Marc Jacobs is slated for March 6th, 2012.

Believe us when we tell you that we were “armed” to the teeth for Black Friday, that one day of the year all trend reporters lived for. First, we had a dozy of a checklist ranging from down jackets, thermal long johns, lounge chairs and so on. One of us, not at liberty to say who, wore the complete set of Nike Pro Combat gear, just in case the shopping crowd becomes unruly. Like trained Special Forces operators, we dispersed through key shopping locations and waited…and waited some more. The chaos that was to be, the raging hoard that was to come, the hair yanking middle age housewives, the fist throwing college grads, the cute kid with malicious intentions… were all gone? Instead, the anticlimactic Black Friday was one of well-behaved shoppers and UGG wearing tourists. And so, we retreated to more familiar ground, our office, and plotted our next step. While our Black Friday was a dud, merchandisers nevertheless geared up with high anticipation in mind. Slim Chin, the Beast from the Far East is back with a brand new remix. Another returnee is DeLorean, the star of Back to the Future trilogy, with brand new collabs. What it lacked in time travel ability, the BMW 7-Series by Steinway Piano made up in embellishments and styles. But if practicality is what you are looking for, than the CONVERSE Chuck Taylor Duffle Coat may be just the holiday gift for you. So take a moment to digest that days-old stuffing your mother in-law made (taste like sawdust), cause the holiday shopping season just got started…

Fashion x Skateboard Decks! Marc Jacobs is the latest to use this medium, which is still a bit edgy, and hugely collectible – note various eBay prices for Supreme x Damian Hirst, etc. From MarcJacobsInt.via Twitter, we have some images of this collection of four skateboards from Marc Jacobs. The mini-collection is comprised of four graphic designs, some more graphic than others, based on photos shot by fashion photographer Juergen Teller. Subjects include M.I.A., Stephanie Seymour, Lisa Marie Presley, and of course, Kate Moss – who Juergen Teller is famous for shooting candidly. Check out the shots after the jump. Check out Marc Jacobs for the decks, which are reportedly releasing soon, but I wouldn’t bet on finding any…. via: MarcJacobsInt.
