Elephants may not be one the coolest animals in the animal kingdom, yet the elephant pattern has become popular due to their use on certain high profile basketball sneakers. By no means is New Era the first brand to re-appropriate the famed pattern on products, yet they have done a good job in recreating the complex pattern. Interestingly, they have opted to use the WM-01 caps instead of the 59FIFTY models. The 100% wool cap is printed with the intricate pattern and these caps come in gray or black bodies. CAP COLLECTOR ONE in Tokyo have these in stock right now and they are able to ship overseas as well.

BEAMS approach to fashion is multifaceted and is regularly “outside of the box.” Over the years, the BEAMS family has launched some unique products, most recently with the DRUG STORE Collection, but this time the giant Japanese brand hits us with something more familiar as a result of their collaboration with New Era: the 59FIFTY Solid Pack. BEAMS took this classic cap worn both on the diamond and in the streets and expanded its color range to include some fresh tints that can be worn as-is or customized with your own personal touches. You can pick up this limited edition pack directly from the ZOZOTOWN online store for delivery in late March.

Independent media conglomerate Frank’s Chop Shop has gotten together with Gold Wheels, purveyor of fine skateboard wheels and streetwear, on a New Era 9FIFTY snapback cap. The hat is constructed with black wool and is adorned on the front with a single embroidered gold G, plus Gold Wheels logo at the back. Frank’s Chop Shop’s signature Ben Franklin iconography is also on display, in the form of the man’s likeness on the side panel, as well as a quote from the Founding Father inscribed underneath the bill that’s worth its weight in gold. The limited edition triple-branded snapback is in stock now at Japan’s Amazingstore.

Tokyo-based streetwear giant Nitraid is seeing green this season, as evident by the images from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection lookbook. Clothed in luxurious python skin with a layer of lambskin as under brim for good measure, the customized New Era snapback by STRAPBACKS have garnered much acclaims. And that was even before Jay-Z fashioned it throughout his “Watch The Throne” tour with Kanye West. Now, the same premium construct can be your as STRAPBACKS releases 10 of these special edition. Hand crafted and all genuine down to the gold buckle leather strap, each retails for $300 US and available for a limited time only via STRAPBACKS online store.
The corduroy fabric is a winter favorite with its ability to retain warmth and New Era is capitalizing on it for their latest Corduroy Tiger Stripe Pack. Three cap styles – 59FIFTY, WM-03 and WM-04 – make up the pack and each style comes in two colorways. A New York Yankees logo is embroidered on the front of the 59FIFTY cap with MLB logo placed on the back. Both the WM-03 and WM-04 models are very similar, except the shorter visor on the WM-04. On the back of the caps, they have upgraded the adjustable straps with suede material and metal buckles. All of these caps can be ordered through CAP COLLECTOR ONE in Japan, who is able to ship overseas without any problems.

It’s not too often that Jordan Brand teams up with an outside entity for a release, generally opting to preserve autonomy in the Michael Jordan legacy. Dave White recently got his hands on the Air Jordan 1 and there are the annual Doernbecher models that arguably constitute collabos as well, but those can be seen as isolated incidents in the grand scheme of things. The collaborative effort this time around comes not via sneakers but via some Jumpman adorned headwear, produced in conjunction with New Era. The four colorways from the collection strangely steer clear of any distinct tie-ins from favorite Jordan releases, save for the all-black cap that incidentally has a ‘black cat’ look. Follow us after the jump to get a look at the Jordan Brand x New Era Jumbo Jumpman snapbacks which just popped up at Amazing Store.

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman addressed the team’s one glaring weakness — their shallow starting rotation — by trading away top catching prospect Jesus Montero to Seattle for All-Star righty Michael Pineda, and signing free agent right hander Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year contract. Just like that, an already strong Yankees team has become the hands-down favorite to win the toughest division in baseball, the AL East. With spring training just a few weeks away, now’s a great time for fans to show off their team pride by picking up a new Yankees ballcap. New Era has partnered with Ace Hotel on a limited-edition 59FIFTY Yankees fitted crafted from genuine Pendleton plaid wool. Made from pure virgin wool woven in Pendleton’s Oregon mills and assembled at New Era’s New York factory, the cap is available now at Ace Hotel New York and online.

It seems like New Era Japan have started to branch out into goods other than their staple head wear and apparel line. We had seen a glimpse of the bags released last year but they are officially launching the Bags & Packs Collection from the Spring/Summer 2012 season. The collection consists of Backpacks, Daypacks, Messenger Bags, Waist Bags, 4-Way Tote Bags, Reversible Duffle Bags, Knapsacks and Shoe Sacks. Best of all, their Backpacks and Waist Bags come available in seven colorways and we can only hope the other items will follow suit in the near future. The whole collection is currently available only on New Era stores in Japan and on their online shop.

Ever heard of 19TWENTY by New Era? Us either. Apparently its a designation for 8-panel fitted caps that were available only in Japan. Fortunately for New Era fans in London, Foot Patrol gotten a few of them in store. Made in wool with either a Pittsburgh Pirates insignia, in black, or St. Louis Cardinals version, in red, both are now available at Foot Patrol, though in limited quantities.
