New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman addressed the team’s one glaring weakness — their shallow starting rotation — by trading away top catching prospect Jesus Montero to Seattle for All-Star righty Michael Pineda, and signing free agent right hander Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year contract. Just like that, an already strong Yankees team has become the hands-down favorite to win the toughest division in baseball, the AL East. With spring training just a few weeks away, now’s a great time for fans to show off their team pride by picking up a new Yankees ballcap. New Era has partnered with Ace Hotel on a limited-edition 59FIFTY Yankees fitted crafted from genuine Pendleton plaid wool. Made from pure virgin wool woven in Pendleton’s Oregon mills and assembled at New Era’s New York factory, the cap is available now at Ace Hotel New York and online.

Patiently sitting among other CALIROOTS accessories is Franklin, a 1 foot tall stuffed horse made of original Nez Perce fabric, which PENDLETON created to celebrate the Pacific Northwest Native American tribe of the same name. Franklin’s beady black eyes, soft wool/cotton blend frame and fitted reins make him a great gift for kids (or big kids) who love horses or accents with a southwest flair. Franklin comes in Sapphire blue or Ivory/Green, both splashed with color from arrowheads pointing in every direction. Shop online or pick this up at the CALIROOTS store in Stockholm.

After a successful collaboration, Japanese men’s brand Deluxe is turning to PENDLETON for another round of wool shirts. Previous pieces leaned towards red hues, yet these latest shirts are made from the opposite side of the spectrum in blue checked materials. The outer layer is made from 100% virgin wool material, and on the interior, 35/65 Polycotton material is used for optimum comfort and warmth. Traditional shirt designs are employed with two-buttoned pockets placed on the chest; however, the whole pattern is drawn up for a slimmer Asian silhouette, resulting in a tighter fit when compared to American shirts. UP THERE in Australia has these shirts in their inventory right now.

The crew at C Premium Store, the fashion oriented division of the Stockholm’s Caliroots, has compiled its Fall/Winter 2011 lookbook. Shot by Filip Johnsson and styled by David Irigoyen, the looks herald the best part of the changing of the seasons, namely the tweeds, flannels and waxed cotton that are so evocative of crisp fall weather. Warm and rustic tones rule the day, and multiple layers combined with accessories like scarves, gloves and beanies provide a finishing look as much as needed protection from the chill. Standouts include the Nunk and Skilliam Jackets from Norse Projects, Njakka Jacket from Denim Demon, Adventure Shirt and Denim Jacket with Jacquard Yoke from Pendleton, Tigers Varsity from Heritage Research, and Roccia Vet boot by Diemme. All items are available now at the C Premium store.
