What better way to celebrate the 77th anniversary of your parent brand, Yoshida & Co., than to build a limited edition watch to mark the occasion. Previous collaboration projects between Maiden Noir and PORTER proved to be a success, so the winning partnership is back again for the Spring/Summer 2012 season. In this collaboration, there are four key pieces created in black, red and green tones. Amongst the three Day Pack Hiker backpacks, there is an inclusion of a woodland camouflage fabric but the rest of the bags are made from solid colors. All of the accessories – wallet, coin case and key chain – are unified in black leather body with dark green panels and gold accents. The Tanker is an iconic series from PORTER that debuted in 1983, and its inspiration comes from the MA-1 flight jacket. This series is still very popular today, and here we take a look at the latest Day Pack to get the Tanker treatment. An all-black exterior is made from three layers of synthetic materials for durability. On the exterior, a nylon twill fabric sandwiches polyester cotton material in between nylon taffeta on the interior. Rescue Orange lining is also another of its iconic trademarks, referencing the MA-1 jacket. A Bathing Ape and PORTER are probably one of the most widely recognized Japanese brands out there and they are teaming up for a special collaboration. For this collection, both brands are returning to their classic designs. As far as international recognition is concerned, A Bathing Ape is best known for their original camouflage designs and these 1st Camo patterns are where it all started. On the other hand, the Tanker Series is the most recognizable series produced by PORTER, with the items made in military inspired nylon materials. It is handy to have at least one good tote bag in your closet and the newly designed Cambio Tote Bag from PORTER could be a good start for those without a decent tote bag. Japanese company 35 Summers is known for reviving forgotten American and European brands. One example of their work is Rocky Mountain Featherbed, which has made a strong comeback since its revival in 2005. Another brand on their roster is Mighty-Mac, a sailing brand which was established in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The brand faded into obscurity around the early 90′s, and 35 Summers successfully brought it back to life in 2009. To kick off the new year, Mighty-Mac teamed up with PORTER on a capsule collection. In few months time White Mountaineering will start to deliver their Spring/Summer 2012 pieces into retailers around the world. Included in the Dune Rover collection are some collaboration items with PORTER. We took a glance at them in their runway show, but here we can take a look at it in more detail. The collection is inspired by desert landscapes and cowboy culture, therefore these accessories were made from used denim materials. All three bags are constructed from indigo colored denim and shows a distinct character of wear and tear. Brown and cream leather details refer back to the cowboy theme and adds color to the monotone items. Expect these items to reach White Mountaineering stores and dealers next year.
