Raekwon’s Only Built for Cuban Linx II was a critical success and it proved that there is a still a market for hip-hop that isn’t intended to cater to a mainstream audience. On the heels of success from that album and a high-profile guest appearance on Kanye’s “Gorgeous” from Mr. West’s latest release, Raekwon is hitting the studio yet again. The first track from the forthcoming project is called “Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang.” This track revisits the kung-fu sample theme that defined the super-group in the early 90s with an extended intro of kung-fu dialogue . A thumping beat and trademark stream-of-consciousness rhyme flow. Download the track after the jump. via: Fader

Kanye West has released his newest track as a part of his G.O.O.D. Friday promise; the new song features Mos Def, Swizz Beatz, Raekwon, and Charlie Wilson and is entitled “Lord Lord Lord”. Some critics are calling it the “future of hip-hop” while others are still confused by the idea of Kanye West and Raekwon collaborating with Justin Bieber, however the reality is the three of these artists did indeed collaborate on a remix of Bieber’s hit single, “Runaway Love”. Kanye took the original song and added a new instrumental to it by sampling the original Wu-Tang Clan song, “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing Ta F*** Wit”, while keeping Bieber’s vocals in tact. Additionally Raekwon adds two verses with Kanye adding a third verse. Listen and download the song after the jump and let us know what you think…
The first single off of the highly-anticipated Wu Massacre (Raekwon, Method Man, and Ghostface Killah) album is a Michael-Jackson-sampled cut called “Or Dreams,” and the video just hit the net. The cinematic, Se7en-themed video has a Criminal-Minds style murder at the start of the video, which unravels a bit of a multi-faceted plot that follows Ghost and Method’s arrest. The video cross-cuts between time periods before and after the arrest, and it leads to a bit of a twist in the conclusion. Rick Cordero, who has worked with the likes of Q-Tip, Wale, The Roots, and Jay-Z, directed this short film. The album is set to release on March 30th, and judging by the leaks and concept of what’s been released, it looks to be something fans of the Wu-Tang will embrace. via OS

Raekwon has kept hope alive for those who still clamor for the music of hip-hop’s so-called “Golden Era.” After Only Built For Cuban Linx part II, which many fans thought would never get released, Raekwon is now front and center again as a member of the trio responsible for Wu Massacre, an album featuring Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon. This single, “Flawless Crowns,” is an unreleased gem from Raekwon that was produced by Mondee, who enjoyed some indie fame producing for the likes of Yak Ballz and Inspektah Deck. His murky, dark-toned track provides the backdrop for Raekwon doing his thing on the free association tip. This limited edition single (only 300 produced) is available for purchase at BoundlessNY.
Producer/rapper J Dilla passed away in 2006 but had a store of unreleased tracks that are continuously being released. His latest work, “Jay Stay Paid, was just released this past June and here is the music video for “24K Rap” off the album, featuring and starring NYC legends, Havod and Raekwon. The video is shot in none other than NYC’s A.R.C. and the manager, Jesse, was tied up and robbed in this rapping fiasco. Check out the video and get a dose of J Dilla beats.
