After seeing the latest collaboration between Case-Mate and Staple Design’s STPL, you may never look at one of the most common natural city dwellers the same ever again. Back with another pigeon-inspired product, STPL paired up with Case-Mate to create a silicone case that is textured and colored to look like the wings and body of this most conspicuous of birds. Made to slip over the back and corners of the Apple iPhone 4/4s and enhance your grip, the case is several shades of grey save for its salmon-colored camera port and its pigeon feet key charm. Once in place, this case makes your phone both impact and bird-dropping resistant.
Check out more looks at this city-ready case after the jump before heading over to New York’s Reed Space to pick one up.

Just with the photography trade, DJ trade has been made tremendously easy by the introduction of digital software and internet. Back in the day, DJ’s would actually go out digging for records to find the breaks, unlike now where all of that information can be found online at the push of few buttons. One of the pioneers who took this genre to a whole new level is DJ Neil Armstrong who created the Original mixtape series ten years ago, showcasing both the original track and hip hop track that sampled it side by side. The anniversary also marks the incredible growth of DJ Neil Armstrong as a DJ as well. adidas and STPL got together to produce 50 limited edition friends and family track jacket to be handed out by DJ Neil Armstrong. Unfortunately, this is probably as close as we are going to get to the exclusive jacket, so check out the detailed photos after the jump.

Each boutique will be stocking one of eight t-shirt designs speaking on the truth about nicotine, smoking and cigarettes in general. Keep your eyes on Reed Space, ALIFE, Goliath, BODEGA, BURN RUBBER, MAJOR, TRUE and UBIQ who will be stocking the truth1585 Collection very soon. truth also created a short video interview with each of the boutique’s founders and staff about the reasoning behind participating in this project and what smoking means to them personally.

New York City’s own Staple Design partnered with Singapore select store Sup to give a sneak preview of the STPL Fall/Winter 2011 collection in the Asian region. The trunk show served several functions by not only showcasing the latest range, but also producing a pop up gallery which highlights key pieces from Staple Design archives as well as a photo exhibition. Alongside the trunk show in store, the narrow Haji Lance turned into a street party, with beats provided by DJs Jaspal, NStomp and Eclipse, who kept the party going. Furthermore, STPL and Sup teamed up together on limited edition t-shirts and snapback caps by Starter, sold exclusively at Sup in Singapore.

They are known as the flying pest in New York City. But to Jeff Staple and the Staple Design family, the lowly pigeon is a metaphor for survivability and persistence, especially true in the Big Apple’s harsh surrounding. In go beyond just a mere mascot for the company, Staple partnered with Kidrobot in the creation of Kidrobot x Staple Pigeon collection. Aside from apparel, key caps, and key fobs, is the winged vermin itself at 7-inch in height. Quipped with a distinctive grey coat in various shades, the pudgy fowl comes with its very own poop. Limited to 800 units with an even rarer albino colorways at 200 units only, now available at Reed Space and Kidrobot retail locations and online stores. The albino version will only be available in-store at Reed Space, Kidrobot New York, and Kidrobot Los Angeles locations.

After this summer’s BELLATOR COLUMBIDAE, or also known as Fighting Pigeon figurine with Adfuncture, Staple Design will recreate its favorite mascot in a 7-inch vinyl facsimile next month, courtesy of Kidrobot. Instead of an aggressive stance like the previous design, Kidrobot’s version has a rather astute posture with its unsightly poop, a rather accurate depiction its feral nature especially in New York City. Aside from the two colorways that will be available, the capsule collection will include matching t-shirts for him or her, key chain, and key cap. The Kidrobot x Staple Design Pigeon 7-Inch Vinyl Figure itself will be limited to 800 pieces worldwide. The collection as a whole will launch next Thursday, November 3rd, at all Kidrobot retail locations, Reed Space, and both retailers’ online stores. In addition, Staple Design/Reed Space founder Jeff Staple will be at Kidrobot NYC and Los Angeles store for an autograph session as well.

A nation that always pride itself as self-sufficient, Japan finally succumbed to reality yesterday when its nuclear agency raised the disaster level at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant to 7 from 5 on the scale of severity, on par as the Chernobyl incident in 1986. Though improved somewhat, the dire situation in Japan still need aid from the outside. But after a marathon of t-shirts and charitable events, what else can we do, especially those in New York City? Designer Jeff Staple and his Staple Design might have the answer, a simple red circle pin. In his statement, Staple wrote:
A red circle.
Anyone who donates or supports gets one. It’s not only a badge of support, it’s a rally cry. We are organizing an event in NYC on Saturday 4/16/11 to bring people together; get them to donate directly to Red Cross Japan and then represent with this button. You don’t have to buy a product. There’s no “portion of sales” of anything…We’re just giving those that choose to support a means of telling the world around them to do the same.
With the help of our friends, we’ve amassed an incredible all-star line up of DJs to provide you with what will be a very special night. Please come out and support, have a good time and GIVE. Japan has given us so much. It’s time to give back.
Again, point of purchase is not necessary. Simply donate directly to Japan Red Cross Society on the day of the event to receive a pin.
