A new behind the scenes video of the Global Hi Mural Project, courtesy of Stash, Wane and Futura, finds the artists doing what they do best: plying the tools of their trade and creating a mural on a New York City wall. The clip focuses primarily on Futura, starting with the first neon orange lines on the non-descript brick face and ending with the legendary street artist applying his signature to the finished piece. You’ll also get a first look at an upcoming RECON-branded Futura signature sneaker.

Momentum is certainly building and increasing by the day. After a long hiatus, RECON, the NYC downtown original, is preparing for a brand re-launch. The label, officially known as RECON Brand, just took down its countdown webpage. In its place, a montage of daily updates as the official re-launch date nears. But the most interesting element on the work-in-progress website is the archival revisit of past RECON merchandises. Some quite rare including a beer glass etched with RECON barbs and the RECON x Stash Clark Originals Wallabee. More information to come, soon.

You wouldn’t notice looking from the outside. But with each generation of new entries to the so-called street culture, the further it deviates from the true origin. In sensing the time is right, graffiti artist Stash is re-launching his iconic label RECON once again. To coincide with the countdown to its official debut, Stash enlisted helps from fellow graf legends FUTURA and Wane to paint up one street corner of New York City. In the video that documented the process, viewers will get a glimpse at the RECON Artist Series, including signature footwear from Stash and FUTURA…morsels of intrigue indeed.

WeSC and Stash are set to embark upon the presentation of an exhibition featuring a new body of work by the artist himself. Entitled, Blue Brooklyn, Stash extends his work with the Scandinavian brand outside of products by resorting back to a familiar artistic medium via the usage of spray paint. The exhibition appears to be comprised of paintings, but it also will feature metal sculptures as you can see here in this behind the scenes look at the creative process. The opening reception will be taking place on May 19th at 7pm over at the Galerie Issue in Paris, with music courtesy of DJ Smoke L.E.S.

Reebok and Packer Shoes in Teaneck, NJ have cemented a solid relationship that began with the Dominique Wilkins shoe crafted for the Pump 20 campaign. For the release of the Pump Graphlite, Packer teamed up with Stash, an artist whose sneaker designs have made their way onto some iconic sneakers, and recently, a few Sebago models as well. Limited to 289 pairs, there was a crowd assembled outside the store well before the 6:30 release, even with nasty rain and sleet pounding down. Mike Packer, according to the Tweets on his store’s site, bought some hot chocolate and a few boxes of donuts for the faithful who braved the elements before opening the doors to reward those who waited with signatures and good times with the artist himself.
There was also an online release at 6:30, and the entire batch sold out in under 5 minutes. A day later, the pairs are all gone, as would have been expected for this high profile release that even graced the cover of Sneaker Freaker. Click after the jump to see some shots of Stash and those who arrived early enough to get their pairs with signatures on the sneakers, customized MIZU bottles, and even a few of Stash’s famous models from yesteryear. Packer’s year of the Pump continues. After the exclusive ‘Nique Pump release at the end of last year into 2011. And then January saw the release of the Australian Open Court Victory Pumps, the first of a four pack to commemorate the tennis Grand Slam tournaments. March’s release may be the most anticipated of all, as it was featured on the cover of Sneaker Freaker a while back, and Packer’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing ever sing. The Pump Graphlite features a slew of tech features like a mix of weather-ready materials like premium suede and ballistic nylon on the upper. 3M hits add some sheen, and a Reebok Play Dry membrane treatment keeps your feet dry. A third collaborator who’s no stranger to sneaker collaborations, Stash, joins the mix as well, adding his signature color palate of greys and blues. Stash’s famous signature is embroidered on one heel, while Mr. Packer’s surname adorns the other. These are extremely limited to 289 pairs, which will release on Thursday, March 31st at their Teaneck location and online at their pop-up shop.

Stash has been busy lately, most recently we saw the STASH x Packer Shoes x Reebok Graphlite Pump and the STASH x WeSC Debut Sneaker Collection. Sneaker magazine Shoes Up just revealed an upcoming collection of boots with Sebago. Using the Sebago Beacon boot as the canvas, Stash added his signature spray can splatter on five colorways of the boot. Look for the collection this coming February 2011.

Launched over the weekend, the debut footwear collection from Swedish skate lifestyle brand WeSC (We are Superlative Conspiracy) is a simple fare heavy on quality over aesthetics. Along with 2 other silhouettes, the Hagelin (mid-top) and the Clopton (lo-top), the collection also introduced Emerson Stash, a collaborative model with graffiti artist and WeActivist STASH. In gradient of gray, black, along with ample usage with rip-stop nylon, all punctuated with stitching in STASH’s signature blue. In its first ever footwear collection, Stockholm-base skater/lifestyle label WeSC (We are Superlative Conspiracy) went to the extreme, well kind of, by keeping it tried and true to the culture it catered. In supple oiled leather and suede, this premiere collection, a total of 3 silhouettes: Hagelin (mid-top), Clopton (lo-top) and Emerson Stash (collaboration with WeActivist STASH), is nothing but simple and low key. True to its Scandinavian design root, where quality speaks louder than fanciful appendages and practicality is worth more than all the market research. You will find the WeSC Footwear Collection at your local WeSC stores, its official online store, ans SneakersNStuff in Sweden.

In a candide interview about his life’s recent twist and turn, including the closure of New York City sneaker landmark, NORT-Recon, STASH unveiled his new venture with an unlikely partner, Reebok. Together with Mike Packer of Packer Shoes, the Reebok Graphlite Pump harks back to STASH’s familiar blue gradient and gray highlights on his iconic Nike collaborations of the past. Of course, the color blue is also homage to the graf artist favorite movie, TRON. As Mike Packer iterated, ideas to re-introduce the Reebok Graphlite Pump floated around till 18 months ago when Packer met up with STASH to discuss the idea. As for release date and information on the STASH x Packer Shoes x Reebok Graphlite Pump, all is to come in the near future. via: SF
