The last time we saw a celebration of this magnitude was at another 25th Anniversary celebration celebrating a sneaker, for its own 25th Anniversary celebration Casio threw a big bash at Guastavino’s. The venue is a NYC landmark which is situated under the 59th Street Bridge and features soaring granite arches and catalan vaulted tiled ceilings. Casio invited some of the who’s who of trendsetters, sneaker and streetwear heads, brand leaders and other special friends including Spike Lee, Eric Haze (who designed much of the 25th Anniversary’s graphics) and ended with Kanye West performing. Just as notable was a humorous presentation by G-Shock’s inventor Mr. Kikuo Ibe who took the crowd thru a illustrated history of how he created the first G-Shock. Thanks very much to the Exposure team and Casio for the special evening.
