In celebration of the 30th anniversary of George Lucas’ sci-fi epic, Star Wars, a collective 13 Japanese artists and labels join curators Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks (both of DKE Toys) in the re-imagination of one the most memorable villains in cinema, Darth Vader.

Each of the collaborators were given a 1:1 scale Darth Vader helmet, constructed identically to the original prop used in the films.  Each of the helmet also served as a 3-dimensional canvas and permitted the collaborators to fully exercised their re-interpretation of the Seth lord.  Collaborators in the Japan leg of the tour include:

Bounty HunterChino | Dehara | Devil Robots | Gargamel | Itokin Park | Mad Barbarians | Mori Chack | RealxHead | Secret Base | T9G | Touma | Usugrow | Yoko d’Holbachie

Their works will join other Vader helmets created by artists in both Europe and US during 2007 portion of the exhibition tour.  After the Japan leg is over, the helmets will continue its tour through out the rest of the Asia and to other parts of the world.
