Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11th, to celebrate this wonderful day Artist/Director Yves Geleyn, the bird and the bee celebrate Mom’s Day by creating a Zune-arts.net film.

Parisian artist Yves Geleyn and New York indie pop duo the bird and the bee team up for the new Zune Arts film. “Mother Like No Other” A tale of just how far a beaver will go to share the perfect gift with mom, the film features a cut-and-paste look reminiscent of an elementary school art project. Geleyn achieves this effect by animating a collage made out of 2D and 3D elements, including fabric, textured papers, and photographs.

The celebration of several national holidays consecutively, the commonly called Golden Week will come to a close in Japan this Tuesday, May 6th. Similar to major holidays, like Thanksgiving, in United States. Golden Week gives over worked Japanese to visit friends & family. Retailers also take the opportunity to arrange special presentations and/or merchandises.

For this year’s Golden Week, KIKS TYO created a retail booth in conjunction with Laforet Harajuku, a popular department store at the most famous intersection in Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo. The booth features hard to find merchandises from past KIKS TYO collections, such as the collaboration with New Balance. It also offers items from its current season. The first 300 customers will get the opportunity to purchase KIKS TYO x Medicom Toy - Aki Hosino’s Kubrick figure and the swim suit model’s “Sneaker Lover” DVD with photographer Yasumasa Yonehara

Google has recently launched the iGoogle Artist Themes in collaboration with many designers/artists to create themes to personalize your Google homepage. As you land on the classic Google homepage you will see Jeff Koons’ take on the Google logo and under the search bar a link that takes you to the iGoogle Artist Themes page. You can also “add your choice of news, email, games, and more for a page that’s as useful as it is beautiful.”

There are 68 artist themes choose from, to nam a few: Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy), Jeff Koons, John Maeda, NIGO/BAPE, Marc Ecko and many more. If you have trouble choosing a theme you can try the sampler - “with this theme, you’ll get to try out a new featured theme every day and decide whether you want to keep it.”

After a very successful group exhibition ‘Love Art’ recently held in Hong Kong, Banksy will be previewing his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong. The solo exhibition will be a continuation from ‘Love Art’ with additional unique artworks unseen in Hong Kong.
