British designer, Nigel Cabourn, started his own label more than 30 years ago in 1970 while he was in his final year of college. With a penchant for interesting fabric and detailing, Cabourn started collected a range of vintage pieces, starting from military outerwear, during this period of time. His passion for vintage clothing inspired a lot of Cabourn's designs and collections.
The Naval Blazer in Beige is ased on an American shooting jacket from the 1930s. The fabric is a soft and wearable 2 fold Japanese oxford cotton, which allows the blazer to look casually wrinkled and worn. The three-button blazer is adorned with three pockets for a sportier and utilitarian look. The shank buttons are reversible so the wearer can adjust the buttons to the side he prefers. Parts of the jacket, such as the sleeves are reinforced with extra cross stitiching for durability. Hunting or not, the light beige blazer is a great throw on for cool summer nights. Though not widely available in North America yet, the blazer is available online at Super Denim.
