As a special guest designer at Pitti Uomo 76, brainchild of UNDERCOVER, Jun Takahashi, debuted his Spring/Summer 2010 collection on June 17th with the beautiful Giardino di Boboli of Palazzo Pitti as his backdrop. Simplicity juxtaposed with a play on shapes and volume remains a standard for UNDERCOVER's new collection.
Taking inspiration from German industrial designer, Dieter Rams's user-friendly and functional work. The collection's color palette progressed in a graduated manner from white to grey, then olive to black. The color scheme functioned well with the space-age styled pieces of structured parkas, tailored jackets, cropped trousers and shorts, and some pieces are donned with orange leather hardware details. Interesting prints that seem like a hybrid of galaxy and camouflage also scatter themselves on to the pieces. The collection pulls together in a minimal fashion- clean, and modern, and according to Takahashi, it depicts "The simple but beautiful artistic touch that exists after discarding the unnecessary". via: WWD
