In 2001, Brendt Barbur got hit by a bus while riding his bike in New York City. The incident led him to create what has become a global phenomenon, the Bicycle Film Festival, where the simple tool of transportation and the culture surrounds it are celebrated through film, music, and art.

Coincide with the film festival; a one-of-the-kind group exhibition titled Joy Ride is also on display in 4 different locations across Lower East Side on New York City. Featuring works by: Graffiti Research Lab, Cheryl Dunn, Benedict Radcliffe, I LOVE DUST, Maya Hayuk, Kenzo Minami, Martha Cooper, Aiko... just to name a few. All 4 venues debuted last evening and will be open till this Sunday, June 21st. Each of the location will also include few of the participating artists to speak about their experiences and works.
