We are used to thinking about Louis Vuitton in terms of brightly lit, clean, refined spaces. The new Louis Vuitton /underground/ concept store which goes in line with the recent burgeoning flank of pop-up spaces challenges the way we conceive the brand. The new concept store is hosted in the Ikebukuro branch of Japan's Seibu Department Store. The space is rather literally, underground, as customers have to descent a flight of stairs before entering a raw and deconstructed warehouse-like space. Louis Vuitton items are displayed on wooden crates and metal shelves. Exposes piping, yellow/black striped caution masking tape and construction cones section off items and display areas. The space will be up and running for a limited time only, so do visit and check out the space if you happen to be in town.
