With his well-received basics line T Collection, Alexander Wang, the man who took home the Swarovski CFDA Award this year, is looking to expand into menswear with something similar. While basic tees are already staples in mens wardrobes, the designer is looking to change the way men wears the almight white-tee.
While the buyers say that men usually like to wear their tees fitted for layering under blazers, Wang wants to venture into something else--"That's such an old-fashioned way of how guys dressed. This is T-shirt dressing. You wear your shirt, you're done."
For the upcoming Spring/Summer season, Wang's line for men is looking very much like a collection of worn-in favorite shirts. The tees made from prima cotton, tencel and linen are developed exclusively for the line and laundered to deliberate perfection. The cuts will include both fitted and loose athletic fits for Wang's new vision of T-Shirt dressing.
Even though tees are a big focus for the designer at the moment, we can still expect to see button downs, tanks and hoodies. The collection doesn't seem to be making a leap for formal dressing, but it does make a good case for your weekend garb. via: men.style
