For snowboarders and skiers out there, the season of powder begins as slopes start to rev their lifts and open doors to the public. While many resorts and slopes are not yet open, we are pretty certain many are watching the weather conditions with hawk-like focus so avid shredders can be the first to hit the slopes this season. To make all the monitoring and mindful scrutiny easier, The North Face released Snow Report 2.0 today. Snow Report 2.0 is the first to aggregate topical and resort related information from twitter feeds into one single application for easy viewing. A new function added to the updated app is the Push Notification function that alerts users of snowfalls at their favorite resorts at 24, 48 and 72 hour intervals. Also, higher resolution trail maps and avalanche advisories are also made available. A even better news-- the app is still free for all to download at the iTunes store, so plug your iPhone in today and be the first to know when to hit the slopes.
