Founded by Paris based designer, Ramdane Touhami, Resistance is known for its unconventional cuts, volume and political motifs. The designer draws on vintage items such as military wear from the WWI and recreates them in a modern context, fast gaining a loyal following with tough attitudes.
For Fall/Winter 2009, the label features a wonderful collection of outerwear with military and revolutionary background. Amongst the line-up for tough luxe jackets is a rendition of the biker silhouette fused with the puffer. The motifs featured on the jacket are based on The Black Panther Party, which is an African-American revolutionary organization active from the 1960s to the 1970s. On the sleeves of the jacket, embroidery patches of "Huey P Newton" and the Black Panther logos. The jacket also features padding on the elbow and across the chest. More intricate and interesting than the average puffer, these will instantly put the edge into any jeans and tee combo.
Other than the black Panther version, there is also an unadorned red version and both are now available online at oki-ni.
