Since the opening of Nike Harajuku flagship store it held a special project titled 11Change. It involves 11 individuals or athletes who have put a tremendous influence on sports in Japan. The last of the series is Takehiko Inoue who might be a familiar name for those that love Japanese comics and animation. Inoue is responsible for the basketball craze in the 90's in Japan with his smash hit comic book and television animation series Slam Dunk.
Inoue was given a blank canvas to design over any sneaker and also accompanying t-shirt to match. Hyperize was chosen since he was heavily influenced by basketball as a teenager and this sneaker design pays homage to basketball. A fresh combination of light blue and white featuring illustration by Inoue on the leather uppers in lazer. Same all over print is featured on the t-shirt in grey print against white body with light blue reversed print on the bottom left. These items will be available in 100 pieces only at the Harajuku store only from January 30th.
