This season, despite the snow storms and incredible thunder snows, Nike ACG is keeping all equipped in style so one can venture outdoors if need be (regardless if you are hoping to scale a new trail or simply to shovel snow off your driveway). The sportswear giant's outdoor line, ACG (All Conditions Gear) has collaborated with a Timorous Beasties, a graphic and design house from Glasgow celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, to create a capsule collection. Timorous Beasties is known for juxtaposing 19th century French wallpaper designs against modern imagery and nature motifs of flora and fauna for their graphics. In terms of execution, the house adopts innovative and experimental print techniques that have been described as "William Morris on acid".
For this collaboration, prints from Timorous Beasties have been applied tonally to a TB Vertical Shell BK Jacket which ones in black and indigo. The jackets, while fully taped at seams and are crafted from a wind and waterproof lightweight shell, carry an intriguing old-world vintage vibe. In terms of technology, the ACG Storm-Fit technology makes the jacket breathable while seamsealed and is able to withstand up to 5000mm of water pressure. Aside from the almighty jacket that can weather all, the collection also features a series of graphic tees in fresh gradient colorways that carry a dreamy, otherworldly characteristic which can only be achieved with a bright dose of imagination and inspirations from the past, present and future.
The collaborative collection is limited in number and definitely puts outdoor gear on a new design map. Who says outdoor gear has to be all about plaids at best? The collection is now available for order online via: Hanon.
