Every pair of blues out there, be it acid washed, skinny, flared or legging infused are steeped in a great sartorial heritage which arguably began in the 17th century (as some have speculated that denim was named after Nimes, a town in France where a sturdy fabric named Serge was created). While history may live on in metaphorical terms, Levi's Vintage Clothing has been making sure that history stays alive and wearable by replicating original items from the label's San Francisco archives. Just arrived at C'H'C'M is a collection of tops ad denim from the archives spanning from 1920s to 1960s. As denim and tops were created extra sturdy and basic for the laboring men back in the day, the reprises Levi'sretain the simple, utilitarian quality of the classic American sense of dressing. Some interesting items include super soft white tees from the 1940s and 1950s, a double pocket chambray shirt and an all-American grey melange sweatshirt reproduced from the 1930s archive.

Of course, the highlight of the archives for denim connoisseurs are the three pairs of archived denims all made in rigid indigo which will have rigid or raw denim lovers palpitating with excitment. First up is the 501 from 1947 in a rigid indigo straight leg with button fly and five pockets topped with copper rivets, concealed bar tacks and red selvage; then the 1966 501 returns with a slightly tapered leg; and last but not least, the 505 from 1967 is also brought back to life in its original pre-shrunk rigid indigo denim, with a slightly tapered leg (very popular in 2010 as far as men's denim goes) and a two-sided capital "E" red tab.

All jeans are rigid to begin with but will soften and grow to conform to its wearer with age. Bound to be an investment piece that will soon become your favorite jeans for everywhere, the collection is now available via: C'H'C'M.
