Every year, celebrities and thousands of music aficionados will pilgrimage to the portion of Colorado Desert in Indio, California for Coachella, a three-day music and arts festival. This year, the Empire Polo Fields continue to host some of music's greatest names and the best upcoming ones. As the party kicks start today, bloggers and press flock the fields as well with live coverage. So for those who (sadly) can't make it out to the deserts, and those who are already at the fields vacillating between rocking out and dehydration,do check out a list of bands and acts to watch (and if you are not at Coachella, iTunes is always available...and will have to tide one over until next year).

Among the highly anticipated headline acts from the big boss Jay-Z, Muse and everyone's perennial favorite animated band, Gorillaz (who had also just released a new album, Plastic Beach), the fashion world's directional publication, WWD, has also compiled a list of fresh talents to watch which sounds absolutely promising for good times. Some of the top names not to be missed is the retro-contemporary soulful crooner, Mayer Hawthorne, Little Dragons, purveyor of Jamica sounds, Major Lazor, England's Band of Skulls, Baltimore's dreamy pop-group, the Beach House, Toronto's electro-house Deadmau5, Montreal's King Khan and the Shrines, Miike Snow, Rusko, Passion Pitt and The XX.
