Unbeknown to most of us, we were to participated too with "assistance" from 3 leading NFL players: Nnamdi Asomugha (Oakland Raiders), Darrelle Revis (New York Jets), and Tim Tebow (Denver Broncos), who happened to have the highest SPARQ Score ever. The pressure was on....
A brief stopover at personalized locker armed with Nike Pro Combat apparels, Nike Training equipments, and a fresh pair of Nike Trainer SC 2010, it was on to the field for the start of a brutal day. Measurements of body weight and height first taken for an accurate assessment, urged on by "our coach", each participant started at the far end of the field with stretches and run-in-place followed by the main event Nike SPARQ Training
Short for Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness, the Nike SPARQ allows athletes and their supporting elements to accurately assess their performances, along with deficiencies before tailored a training regiment to address those issues. Participants were put into their paces through a 40-yard dash, pro agility shuttle run, kneeling power ball toss, and finally vertical jump. SPARQ sensors at each station gave an instant data points while score-keepers doubled as trainers, along with the 3 NFL players on site, gave advices and encouragements to strive for more.
The Nike Football Combines are an integral portion of the first-ever SPARQ Rating National Championship, a near democratization of the traditional high school athletes scouting system where anyone with a body "is" an athlete. Participants with the highest scores will be announced on ESPN Rise network this week. All will have the opportunity to compete for the Championship on July 8th at Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon.
