What is a team without a team jersey? And without some sartorial aids, fanatics will be able to tell you cheering and supporting your team just doesn't feel quite the same. With an understanding of the minds of the sports fanatics, adidas has created special Consortium jersey and accessories pack to commemorate adiCup 2010 and also gear up the world for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. As adiCup will be hitting four cities (Berlin, New York, Tokyo and London), each city will be having a special three-way collaborative Consortium pack designed by two local creative groups with adidas. On the stateside, UNDFTD and Arkitip put their heads together and came up with quite a formidable striped navy number, an just launched in time for adiCup Tokyo is the pack created by Masterpiece Sound and online magazine Houyhnhm.

The adiCup Japan pack is not just a simple slapping of two brand logos, but is designed with both Houyhnhnm and Masterpiece Sound's aesthetics and artistic direction in mind. The pack of canvas bag, sneakers and jersey are predominantly yellow and green, playing into Masterpiece Sound's reggae influences. Masterpiece Sounds is quite interesting for a Japanese band, as they not only sing mainly in English, they also cover some classic tunes with their signature summery reggae vibes. Aside from co-branded logos on either sleeve, the jersey is very much about peace. On the botton right on the shirt are characters for "anti-war" bubbling alongside a smiley face. A hand-sign with a smiley is signature of Masterpiece Sound and has made its way onto the chest as the key motif for this pack.

Like the jersey, the specially designed Votary sneakers (looking very much like a pair of cleats on the upper) is green with yellow three=stripes, and comes with a translucent outsole with graphics visible from underneath. The insoles are green and stamped with the same handsign as seen on the jersey. These will be on display at adiCup Japan, and they are also currently live on the adiCup product page. Check out the products and the full team listing here, and stay tuned for more fiery kicking to come.
